In the fall, after Samar Khan came down with a mild case of COVID-19, she expected to recover and return to her previous energetic life in Chicago. After all, she was just 25, and healthy.
But weeks later, she said, “this weird constellation of symptoms began to set in.”
She had blurred vision encircled with strange halos. She had ringing in her ears, and everything began to smell like cigarettes or Lysol. One leg started to tingle, and her hands would tremble while putting on eyeliner.
She also developed “really intense brain fog,” she said. Trying to concentrate on a call for her job in financial services, she felt as if she had just come out of anesthesia. And during a debate about politics with her husband, Zayd Hayani, “I didn’t remember what I was trying to say or what my stance was,” she said.

So naturally she voted for Biden.
My 83 year old mother suffered more under the vaccine than she with covid.
Now do a story about the flu. Or bronchitis. Or pneumonia.
LOL, sad but probably true. 8>)
These always feel like I’m getting a small, carefully selected slice of a story.
Maybe she has always been a airhead.
Sounds like she has symptoms of MS, she better get tested for it immediately!!
“These always feel like I’m getting a small, carefully selected slice of a story.”
Yeah.
I’m not sure the problems have even been definititively attributed to Covid.
cripes just what every husband wants, a “debate” with his wife on politics
Jeez
“I didn’t remember what I was trying to say or what my stance was,”
Oh, I’ve drunk that much before...
I know many people who have had long-lasting symptoms after having COVID. Brain fog, exhaustion, blood sugar issues, loss of taste and loss of smell. I was talking to an 18-year-old girl yesterday who had COVID in November and she still does not have her sense of smell back. Not sure if this is an accurate number, but I heard that 30% of people end up with lingering side effects like these.
Coronavirus PING!
My daughter was worried about long term effects of Covif. She has a brain injury. She said she didn’t think she’d die of it, but worried how it would effect her brain injury.
She got her first dose of vaccine 2 weeks ago, and she was relieved.
Yeah, but Chyna Joe and Kameltoe are on top of this so just wear your mask, close your business, stay home and curl into the fetal position.
She didn't have to. She lives in Chicongo.
Grow up. A lot of viral diseases have strange manifestations years later. Some - but not all or most - pre-vaccine polio victims who recovered then developed muscular weakness decades later, and childhood polio was also linked to adult onset schizophrenia.
COVID is no different from any other viral disease, although much less lethal or crippling than most. Even so, it’s better not to get it at all. But locking down the world neither prevented people from getting it nor protected or improved the lives of people who didn’t get it or got it and recovered, as did the vast majority of cases.
This is just like ANYTHING that goes “wrong” now is blamed on covid.
Your mail arrived late=covid.
Your fast food drive thru order was wrong=covid.
Your amazon delivery was wrong=covid.
There is no Caffeine Free Diet Dr. Pepper=covid.
My car broke down=covid.
My roof is leaking=covid.
I have some kind of malady=covid.
I had exhaustion for weeks and coffee still smells like chemicals.
