"Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi has ordered that the shipping containers should be removed from the huge Ever Given ship currently trapped in the Suez Canal."
"Now al-Sissi has been left with no choice but to order preparations to unload the ship’s cargo in an attempt to help refloat the boat, according to a statement from the Suez Canal Authority (SCA), as per Reuters."
"The rudder was not moving and it is now moving, the propeller is working now, there was no water underneath the bow, and now there is water under it, and yesterday there was a 4-metre deviation in the bow and the stern."
"However, a mass of rock was later found at the bow of the ship, bringing the progress to a screeching halt."

Maybe they can stack the removed containers to form a pyramid.
I’m not kidding. The fastest way to have that ship unloaded, if you really want it unloaded, is to make an announcement that every bit of cargo on that ship is free for the taking. Stand back and watch.
POTUSDJT would have had heavy lift helicopters and/or big mobile cranes on the way as soon as he heard about it.
Just unload everything on the ground and let the Egyptians have it all... (Hey, what’s this?) Lloyd’s of London or whichever insurance company evens everything out and meanwhile the canal is open.
Trump knows all the best people for that kinda stuff.
Step one, bolt a straight rail onto the sides of the ship, the whole length.
Step 2, lift an overhead lift onto the rails.
Step 3, unload the ship onto trucks.. The whole ship does not nred to be unloaded. Just enough tonnage to float it.
The ship is touching Africa. All you have to do is say everything on the ship is free for the taking. You’ll be astonished at how fast it’d be unloaded.

A salvage captain from South Africa said it would take 400 large barges to offload enough containers just to lighten the load. Not to mention the cranes required that are also not readily available.
Another excuse to raise prices for whatever.
“also need special equipment - they will need container handlers that can reach the ship’s deck - not easy at all.”
They will place a large crane or two at the bow and they will lift off enough containers to place smaller cranes on the deck.
A friend was adamant that the Chinese built their ship so huge in order to intentionally plug up the canal. I have no idea if that is true or not, but it would be an interesting way to do it and look innocent.
And when they find out the containers are loaded with Cat Toys for Walmart’s pet department........well.....it’s still free!
The image and little Arab children playing with a feather on a string and stick. 😂
Pondering as I look at the images......Might be easier and faster to construct a bypass on this clogged artery.
Unloading a ship is not that easy. It has to remain balanced from beginning to end...and it’s all calculated.
How? Not easy to do at all.
A very difficult engineering problem. Can be done, but very difficult.
The first, best solution was to try to re-float the ship.
That was found to be impractical.
“ Get the ship out of the canal so other ships can start passing. Load it back up at the other side.”
***************
The canal is shallow and requires constant dredging to keep it open. Part of the problem is the longer that freighter sits wedged across the canal the more sand builds up. Assuming they eventually float that ship and move it on through the canal there will still be significant dredging required to make the canal passable again. Still lots of work to be done.
Is this ship overloaded?
When one of those 40 ft containers weighs on average 70 to 80 thousand pound’s loaded there’s not many that can unload it considering where it’s at. The biggest helicopter out there only has a max lift of around 40,000 lbs. They’ll have to bring in a big floating crane.
Evergreen is not Chinese.
Since almost EVERYTHING is made in Asia, shortages are coming up - it’s a long haul around the Cape of Good Hope.
