[[“And again, these are carefully thought-through responsible ideas]]

When they preface their arguments with crap like this, you know the bs is about to get chest high

We already have a “user pays principle—the idea that part of how we pay for roads is you pay based on how much you drive.” - it’s called a gasoline tax on every gallon of gas

Netflix is out of the question. Amazon is out of the question. The rich and their planes and their boats, are out of the question. Illegal drugs and the drug dealers and drug users, are out of the question. After all, those are some of the most important contributors and supporters for democrats. Netflix has Obama, and Amazon has Bezos, and the illegal drug industry have easily manipulated voters.

How about having cyclists get a lisence, registration, and odometers installed on their bikes.

Speshual lanes were created for them. Time for them to pay for it.

...And an Amazon tax, $2 for every package because the box is so destructive to the environment.

You can’t out-satire leftists. New York City already floated this idea.

It's not a new idea. I'm sure the truckers Union will be happy....and people who travel for work. s/

Regardless....the plan is to take MORE of our money.

day10 :" If he “walks it back” and downplays it, he can feign surprise when it actually happens."

Which is what is is currently doing about illegal migrants at the southern border.
Now he puts Harris in charge of the migrant " Challenge",
and she isn't even going to go to the border to see it 'first-hand'.
This is the most FUBAR ministration ever ! (no admin here)
And it is being done this way on purpose !
Executive Denial rules this presidency !

If that mileage tax includes trips down the Hershey Highway, Butigig will be bankrupted by the end of the month.

Pretty sure the new e cars can be made “self reporting” fairly easily. Just flip the switch. Sort of like “onStar” coming on and asking you if everything is alright. :-(

“we already have a mileage tax, its just spelled differently.”

Absolutely spot on. You make a point that cannot be refuted and the Biden regime will prove out in spades: Nothing they do say, or promise, can be relied upon. Nothing. Gas taxes are already spent on a myriad of non related graft, etc. Leaving inadequate funds for highway and infrastructure maintenance and new construction.

So rather than just raise the tax, they want to create a new double taxation, to fool their weak minded constituency. You are correct, this is all about direct Federal control of any citizen’s freedom of movement and engaging in commerce. There has to be a way of accounting those miles for Buttigieg’s scheme to collect, and it will not be voluntary.

This is such an awkward lie that Buttigieg had to walk it back. Someone might figure it out. No matter, they will resurrect this creature in some other incarnation, and they are just getting started.

Rents going up. Weird that I/we don’t have a mechanism to increase our income because someone budgets poorly. Oh, former employer, you need to send me another grand every month. I guess I could get a job. LOL!

Here's what probably happened:

1. They thought the mileage tax was a good idea. With some obvious concerns about privacy and the impracticality of collecting such a tax, it's actually not a bad idea.

2. Someone sat down and explained to Butthead that the Federal government doesn't even have the authority to register vehicles or license drivers ... so there's no way to impose such a tax without establishing a national DMV that nobody would ever want.

Butthead is the Transportation Secretary who doesn’t drive! He doesn’t even have a drivers license.

In DC he rides his bike to work.

“Now he puts Harris in charge of the migrant “ Challenge”,”. Well apparently only in a diplomatic kind of way. Not actually going to do anything. Which is probably a good thing. Besides, she’s probably not sure where folks are talking about.

Referred to as ‘sectrans’. Which may or may not be true. Which one is the wife again? Never mind.
