Biden’s pledge to not raise taxes on those earning under $400,000.

MAGIC bean sale get them while they last.

The company I worked for issued me a company car (truck actually) because I was part of a rapid response team that had frequent callouts all over the state. For several years I used the truck for commuting as well as work. Then HR instituted a fee structure that required me to pay for the “privilege” of using their equipment. The fee they wanted to charge me was $350/month.

Since I had a beater car that would cost me considerably less than that I told them that I would rather park the company rig at one of the bases and use my own vehicle for commuting purposes. Of course that would add anywhere from 1-2 hours to my response times. HR was fine with that but my department definitely was not! they insisted that I use the truck. I insisted that they suspend the fee.

So they took my vehicle away from me and insisted that I use “pool vehicles” for work. It was a cumbersome arrangement and my department was irritated that I wouldn’t simply bend over and take it. But it did work.

So naturally Fleet Operations did away with the motor pool in an austerity move. Instead, I was required to use my personal vehicle for callouts and claim mileage expenses. I balked at first, then realized that my high MPG car would work in my favor.

Only problem was that I wasn’t insured to carry company-owned equipment. And I often carried equipment worth tens of thousands of dollars. So I declined to transport the gear, opting to use their equipment instead. This again caused delays in response but they were powerless to force me and too stupid to recognize what a good deal they had been getting.

Ultimately they demoted me and I chose retirement. Their loss was my gain.

Actually, in ideal world, one should pay for what they use.
Right now, we pay for roads by tax on gas and car registration tax. If they get rid of those taxes, that would be fair.
Electrical cars do not pay the gas tax, so we are paying road tax for them. Because of improving gas efficiency, the gas tax is actually raising less and less money.
Cars which are not driven, are still paying the registration tax. That one warries by state, in some states it is very substantial.
So actually paying by mile would be fair.
But how would you enforce this tax?! By spying on everybody?

Exactly and instead of taxing electric cars to pay their fair share, they will go after those of us with gas cars.

I don’t mind mileage tax.

But, only after a person passes the 100,000 miles mark for a year.

Why do you hate professional truck drivers?

No doubt, pro drivers would be excluded, unless they pass the million miles mark for the year. ;)

Had a similar experience when I used to travel across Iowa.

An PSA from the governor blanketed the airwaves "apologizing" for the road tolls while explaining that tolls were necessary to build and staff the toll booths.

Irony is lost on politicians.

Internet connected cars will self report. The older stuff will be forced to go to inspections stations staffed by thousands of unionized federal employees (think TSA).

Demolishocrats should just cut to the chase, confiscate all money and all property, and issue allotments as they see fit to those they feel worthy of them. That’s what all this b******t comes down to.

Truly. Exactly that.

He plans to tax the miles that evil whites and normal males drive triple that of the “best” peoples...

Also plans to charge the tax for people even just thinking of driving somewhere...

To help save the planet, anyone who voted for Trump will not be allowed to drive at all and, instead, will have to pay a 50% tax surcharge on their income as climate reparations...

Exactly, another government intrusion on our privacy.
Because of income tax, we have to report every income, investment and bank account.
If Warren succeeds with her wealth tax, we would get government employee visit every year, appraising all your cloths, furniture and other things. Plus you would be required even more financial reporting.
How much we pay and how much we get back - that’s debated all the time.
However, every tax carries with itself another level of bureaucracy and government encroachment on our privacy.
That’s not really discussed at all!

Did not think about expense reports. I use my car a lot to travel to different locations (the 1K I mentioned is just my commute) so if they institute per mileage tax will my reimbursement cover that? If so I will make a stop every day on my way to work or home at one of our locations and claim a mileage reimbursement and/or tax write off.

It’s deliberate. It’s like “The Producers” of government. Pick the worst possible people for every job in hopes of a massive failure. Why, the even found a Roger DeBris (Levine).
