“Why aren’t people screened for Covid or prior Covid - as a requirement before getting vaccine you think?”
I was asked about current symptoms before my shot.
I guess they don’t/didn’t have good study data on prior COVID effectiveness in preventing future disease, but policy was issued that everyone should be vaccinated, prior COVID or not. That way, they can be more certain about controlling the disease, from the Public Health perspective.
There was some discussion that perhaps those who had already had COVID might only need one booster vaccination, but now that flood of supply is on the horizon, there is less interest in finding ways to economize. Over a billion doses have already been contracted for (although the 400 million AZ doses are looking shaky)
