Former Green Bay Packers star Brett Favre is blasting the left-wing path taken by the major sports leagues in the U.S.
Speaking on Eric Bolling’s April 13 podcast, Favre said that he thinks both liberal and conservative fans want sports to get back to being about sports.
“I think both sides, for the most part, want to see it just remain about the sport, not about politics,” Favre said. “At least that’s my interpretation. I know when I turn on a game, I want to watch the game. I want to watch the players play, and teams win and lose and come from behind. I want to watch all the important parts of the game, not what’s going on outside the game. I think the general fan feels the same way.”
The Super Bowl Champion expressed similar sentiments in a talk with Andrew Klavan where he said that sports used to be something that could unite us, but with all the protests and wokeism during games, sports are no longer something that unites both sides.
Asked about protests during the anthem, Favre said that while he hasn’t spoken to any past or present players on the topic of protests against America during the national anthem, he thinks it has created more division than anything.

He’s changed his tune, a few months ago he was backing the BS.
Ninety eight percent of these chest thumping sports guys are physically brave and complete moral wimps
Watch out
Retraction coming up
He must have gotten hit a few times too many in the noggin if he believes that. One side DEFINITELY wants the politics in it.
Kudos to Brett Favre but basically only one side wants sports unblemished by leftards. The other side does want sports ‘Woketized’.
Sorry, but I’m not interested in the views of a guy that sent unsolicited pictures of his dick to some woman.
Sports is a business. One would think that the last thing any business would want to do would be to drive customers away.
Good point.
Sorry, but I’m not interested in the views of a guy that sent...

Is that the same reasoning you used to NOT vote for President Trump??
When Farve got caught up in the racist BS and started claiming Krapernick was a hero on the same level as Pat Tillman he lost all credibility on the issue. POS plays both sides. He’d make a great Uniparty (R) hack politician.
I’m sure your life was pure as the fallen snow too, right?
No, no the players should join the looters in solidarity and burn down some more ‘Foodlockers’...I mean come on man isn’t burning and looting a sport?
“Sports is a business.”
Having managed TWO multi-million dollar businesses in my career, I’m certain I would’ve been fired had my sales dropped 7% in a year! (NFL viewership dropped 7% in 2020.)
A $140,000.00 LOSS in sales in one year would have DEFINITELY been ‘noticed’ by MY bosses.
But, what do I know? *SMIRK*

And Favre throws an incompletion. The Left wants every last corner of our culture infested with woke politics.
Yea, I thought so too, can't remember the context and too lazy to search. At least he's back on track.
Too little, too late.
Lost ALL respect for Favre after he equated and likened Kaepernick’s leaving the NFL to foment his social justice BS to Pat Tillman’s ultimate sacrifice.
“Sports is a business. One would think that the last thing any business would want to do would be to drive customers away.”
Woke-ism seems to overcome rationality...although the cynic in me thinks they’re calculating that it might (on balance) be a profitable move.
They didn’t lose any sales on that though. And in fact having just negotiated new TV contracts NFL revenue will be increasing dramatically.
Wait until he gets the full Drew Brees quaterback blitz!
He’ll amend his remarks to say only black lives matter.
