In accordance with the Montreux Convention, the Turkish Foreign Ministry was previously alerted via diplomatic channels that two US warships would be passing through the Bosphorus Strait in order to reach the Black Sea. The warships were originally slated to begin travel on April 14 and remain in the Black Sea until May 4.

Funny thing is the Turks will be eaten next.

What an improvement over Obama! Instead of red-line erasure, we’ve moved right ahead to pre-emptive appeasement!

“ Russia warned the United States on Tuesday against sending warships to the Black Sea,...”

https://freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3950681/posts

After this, I’d give the people of the ROC about 3-4 weeks to get their affairs in order, and I’d advise the members of the Ukraine government to take their August holiday early.

Putin and Xi know SloJo isn’t up to dressing himself, so who will stop them?

The Russians and XiComs are very interested in demonstrating a post American-dominated world. The Russian/China/Iran alliance provides three strings to pull. Get Iran to pull a couple of carriers in, then launch towards Taiwan. They gotta do it now before Taiwan takes delivery on the 400 Harpoons and the new submarines and ships...and aircraft. BTW, if the US gets involved...they can reach the gulf with the DF-26. We could go 4 carriers down pretty darn fast.

I always kinda figured that if a carrier gets sunk, the odds of at least a tactical nuclear retaliation goes to around 15% or so. Probably not with just 1. 2, 3, 4? Looking at some serious possibility I think. Even with biden.

The Hagia Sophia is a long term goal of Russia.

Russia's been gunning for that warm water port since Peter the Great and they will not stop until they get one.

The Russian Quest for Warm Water Ports

By opening the Syrian-Mediterranean front in 2015, Russia bypassed the whole military network that NATO and the United States had placed along the Russian Federation’s Western land borders.

Peter the Great was the ruler of a landlocked nation. The Baltic was practically a Swedish lake and the Black Sea belongpd entirely to the Turks. For nearly two hundred years the policy of obtaining, maintaining, and increasing a seaboard has been consistently followed. If that policy was inaugurated by Peter the Great, it was nevertheless absolutely due to the operation of irresistible natural forces.

A great nation must seek a seaboard corresponding in extent to its needs, and Russia could no more be restrained in her seaward expansion than could the United States in overflowing the Rocky Mountains in their march to the Pacific. The policy thus forced upon Russia by the conditions of her being has involved many wars and great sacrifices."

Looks like Biden Blinked in the so called “Ukraine Crisis” (AKA. Ukraine Money Grab). Putin didn’t back down—he doubled down. Looks like the Black sea is going to be a Russian Lake again.
