Minneapolis was transformed into a fortress over the weekend, as a tense city braced for a verdict in the trial of Derek Chauvin - the white police officer accused of murdering George Floyd - this week.
More than 3,000 members of the National Guard have been drafted into the city, in addition to 1,100 officers from public safety agencies across the state as part of what has been termed Operation Safety Net.
In the early hours of Sunday, two members of the National Guard were injured in a drive-by shooting.

If Derek Chauvin is found guilty of murder, there will be Riots of Joy.
If Derek Chauvin is found guilty of manslaughter, there will be Riots of Rage.
If Derek Chauvin is found innocent of any charges, there will be riots of Intense Rage.
So yeah, there will be riots in most major cities this week.

The jury members know that if they vote not guilty, they will become public figures, and their lives will be a living hell.
Regardless of the facts, Chauvin is screwed and will be convicted of at least manslaughter, and probably 15th degree murder.
Not a chance it happens here at all. The city sucks and the state just does what is told by the very liberal majority here
