Rep. Devin Nunes released a groundbreaking document in early 2018 that shook up Washington and proved to be the beginning of the end of the Trump-Russia conspiracy industry.
His memo, released while he chaired the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, contained two stunning disclosures that are now back in the news.
First, it confirmed that the Democratic Party and the Hillary Clinton campaign funded a Kremlin-sourced dossier in 2016 that accused Donald Trump and his allies of various election conspiracy crimes.
Second, the Democratic-financed dossier was used by the FBI to justify four wiretaps lasting one year on Trump campaign volunteer Carter Page. The FBI warrant applications contained inaccuracies. That news injected real evidence of partisanship as a motive for the FBI’s probe, called Crossfire Hurricane.
⦁ At a hearing last week before the House intelligence committee, Mr. Nunes lashed into FBI Director Christopher A. Wray. He criticized Mr. Wray for the bureau’s efforts at undercutting the 2018 memo by issuing a statement saying it had “material omissions.” This, in effect, fed talking points to Rep. Adam B. Schiff, California Democrat, who now chairs the committee.
⦁ The Washington Post reported on April 16 that Kash Patel, then a close Nunes aide who spearheaded a counter-dossier probe and principally wrote the memo, is under investigation on suspicion of press leaks. An intelligence agency complained about him. Mr. Patel clashed with intelligence leaders repeatedly in his attempt to force more Trump-Russia probe documents into the sunlight.
The 2018 six-page memo, including a two-page letter from the White House counsel disclosing that President Trump had declassified Mr. Patel’s work, instantly elevated Mr. Nunes in the eyes of conservatives. It was the first concrete proof of FBI misconduct toward Mr. Trump.

No accountability for the corrupt FBI. No punishment. So what difference does it make?
I have been filled with rage and sorrow as I contemplate the evil that is happening. Watching my beloved country being destroyed by indoctrination of our children to hate themselves and others, by the usurpation of power in our Congress and Executive branches of government, and using that power to invalidate the Bill of Rights and to eradicate parts of the Constitution that insure the cohesion and longevity of our country, by erasing our Southern border and enticing swarms of migrants to come in so that they can be given the unearned ability to vote for those who want to dismantle our country thus insuring their continued power over those of us who still believe in The American Way.
And then I was blessed. I watched a movie, Lady of Guadalupe, which (embedded in a mediocre contemporary tale) told the story of Juan Diego, a humble native in the 1500’s in what is now Mexico, who saw a vision of the Virgin Mary. She praised him for his humility and goodness and courage and asked him to take a message to the local bishop requesting that a temple be built in her honor where she was standing, a place the sorrowing could come for comfort. And thus was built the Basilica of the Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico City, and this vision, according to the story, helped convert hundreds of thousands of natives to the Catholic faith, bringing a modicum of peace between the conquered and the conquerors, as they met in churches as brothers and sisters in Christ.
I also watched a movie about the life of Jesus, and listened to him saying, “But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;” (Matthew 5:44)
And it came to me, the answer to my quest for what I should do to help save my country...
Embrace our brothers and sisters in Christ from Latin America; meet them on the common ground of our faith; hand out pamphlets in Spanish that explain our country to them, that it was founded on Judeo-Christian beliefs, that our Constitution was created to ensure a government of the people, by the people, and for the people, as the most favorable way of ensuring freedom and prosperity and opportunity and justice for all. And especially that it was our government and economic principles that made this a country of prosperity and opportunity that made them want to come here. And finally explain that the Democrat party has been taken over by anti-Americans who want to use them to destroy this country, thus destroying opportunity and religion and hope for all working people.
Maybe Cuban-Americans would be interested in joining such a project, creating and translating the pamphlets and helping distribute them, reading them to those who can’t read.
It has brought me peace to think of our adversaries as brothers and sisters in Christ, very deluded brothers and sisters who can rant at me now while I just smile and remember “Forgive them, Father, for they know not what they do.”

Nunes is a hell of a guy. He was the ONLY one speaking out for a long time.
The ONLY one. That man has principles and courage, not something now commonly found in politicians of any stripe.

Nunes is great. I really admire, follow, and like him. If only there were more like him..
Kash Patel is another who deserves all respect. An incredibly gifted and smart lawyer who along with Ric Grenell got the Nunes investigation off the ground with objective Medusa.
