Pretty sure California is the conman capitol of the United States because they have Hollywood, which is in the business of selling dreams. There are a whole lot of relatively uneducated people with a lot of money there. Fertile (so to speak) hunting grounds for any scammer looking for a quick buck.
Always something weird going on in Hollywood, like Meryl Streep worshipping Harvey Weinstein and calling him God.
