The Oscars have gone the way of local tv news— a quaint byproduct of a bygone age whose diminishment only amplifies it’s absurdity. Good riddance.
Is Hopkins now guilty of a Hate Crime, for winning an award that a black man could have won?
Oscars haven’t been about recognizing talent or measurable achievements in decades now.... just politics.
Want nominated, make a movie about one of left wing causes of the moment.
No matter how aweful it is, and how few people actually see it, win at least a nomination if not an award itself.
Bunch of pompous blow yards who actually believe themselves important...
The best moment the oscars has had in 20+ years was Ricky Gervais opening monologue in 2020.
I purposely don’t go to movies anymore. I don’t support unappreciative “actors” or whatever they call themselves.
Perhaps the Oscar accountants could be made responsible for Presidential elections. They seem to have gotten it right the first time with no need for an audit. And the Woke Media is not happy.
Congratulations to Hopkins and McDormand for their second and fourth Oscars, respectively.
Nevertheless, it amuses me how the Academy lectures Flyoverland about “giving honor and recognition to new voices blah, blah...” but keeps handing out seconds and fourths to the same bunch.
Rich Hollywood Elite Turns Oscars Into Far-Left Hate Speech Targeting Cops
This is why police officers are retiring in droves. The fact that our cities will become far less safe means nothing to these untalented clowns. Why would it? Many of them have very elaborate security details, and don’t have to worry about their safety. Hopefully few Americans will watch this crap.
Hollywood is dead. Finished. They destroyed America’s film industry – once the unparalleled world leader in entertainment.
They’ve been shoveling their communist crap down our throats and Americans have had it.

Congratulations Anthony Hopkins! I don’t know his politics... and that is because he has steadfastly refused to get into politics. Lantern-jaw McDormand won again? Ugh....
Ha ha.
Nothing against Chadwick. He was PHENOMENAL in the Jackie Robinson biopic.
But I am SICK of the PC nonsense. Congrats Anthony.
Ironically, Anthony Hopkins played a black guy in the BBC’s 1980 production of Othello. A miserable performance by anyone’s standards, and he took the role away from a genuine black guy.
Probably held the Best Actor award until the very end to keep the audience from slipping away for an early bedtime.
The Communist Awards is a bunch of scum congratulating each other. It is always a red flag not to watch this movie.
DailyMail quoted tweets:”’Who got the Oscar for most woke oppressed millionaire? Or is that coming up,’ another added.”....’Didn’t know movies were still being made because Hollywood is not essential. Now they are woke political mouthpieces. I had no clue anyone made movies the past year. They can clap for themselves. No one is watching.’”

I’ve heard of Anthony Hopkins, of course, but I’d never heard of any of those movies. They’re still making new movies?
Observation from the red carpet display: I now know why a Golden Globe Award turns into a SAG Award as time goes by.
Couple of token whites ?
Sir Anthony is a fantastic actor. He improves any movie he’s in.
“Meet Joe Black” remains one of my favorites, although I like “A Change of Seasons” (how he keeps sighing and Shirley McLaine, his wife, says, “WILL YOU STOP THAT!”)
Non-event.
Anthony Hopkins absolutely deserved this Oscar, more than most people who have ever won an Oscar. As far as I’m concerned he put in one of the great acting performances on film in The Father—and maybe the best performance he’s ever given.
The Father is a great, non-political, moving little film that everyone should see. It’s very sad and a little scary and it delves into a rough subject (dementia), but I thought it was brilliant and emotional and meaningful.
Anyway, the people who put together the ceremony really acted foolishly considering Hopkins just won the BAFTA (the British Academy Award) for this role, so it was hardly a crazy idea he might win the Oscar too. It’s kind of funny how Hopkins didn’t bother taking part at all.
