George W. Bush says the Republican Party has a shot at future elections if it curbs its 'white Anglo-Saxon Protestantism'

Former President George W. Bush said he believes the Republican Party will win in future elections if its members embrace traditional ideals and curb the "white Anglo-Saxon Protestantism."

Asked about the state of the Republican Party, Bush told "The Dispatch Podcast" he believes there's potential to win in the upcoming midterm elections and the 2024 presidential election.

"I think Republicans will have a second chance to govern because I believe that the Biden administration is a uniting factor, particularly on the fiscal side of things," he said.

But the Republican Party will not win by representing ideals tied to white supremacy, he suggested.

"If the Republican Party stands for exclusivity - it used to be country clubs, now it's white Anglo-Saxon Protestantism - then it's not going to win anything," Bush said.

We live in an age where people who are forgotten have to speak out to remind us why exactly we chose to forget them.

Dubya should seek employment as a village idiot somewhere. Every village needs one, can someone help him?

He’s adrift and drowning in his own delusions.

He’s come a long way since 9/11.

Lest ye forget, 9/11 happened NINE MONTHS into his Presidency, nine months was plenty of time to fix things, so that four Saudis didn't ram their planes into our buildings.

What a POS GWB turned out to be. Here’s a jerk that let the RATS crap all over him, while never fighting back. Now he discredits the party that supported him through thick and thin. So sorry I ever voted for that bastard.

I put “moderate” in quotes like that for a reason.

Essentially they are spendthrift progressives who may for partisan reasons resist spending when a Democrat is in the White House ... or rather used to, the jury is still out on that ... but who worked with Democrats to spend freely when a Republican is in the White House.

Actually, they think of Democrats as friends rather than enemies no matter who has been in the White House.

The “moderates” felt their oats very early in W’s tenure, you may recall Jumping Jim Jeffords back stabbing the country for example.

Where has this guy been? Who got the largest vote from minorities in Republican history? Trump, not any Bush.

The WASPs he so despises invented this country, drafted the Constitution, established state governments, fought in the Revolution and the Civil War and every other war this country has fought. Who set this country up to guarantee the rights of individuals? Who established freedom of religion so that my state Pennsylvania, became a haven for oppressed religious dissenters from all over Europe? Protestants, that’s who. Stop spitting on my ancestors, George. This cretin should read some history before he opens his mouth.

Conservatives in the Republican party are the only group now trying to preserve our liberties—Trump voters. Bush only sees them as nativists, xenophobes, racists, bigots, deplorables. He’s a disgrace. He should be ostracized; he and every other RINO including Lynn Cheney. What world are they living in?

Has he never heard of the Protestant work ethic? Read the history of the industrialists in my neck of the woods. Carnegie, Mellon, and the guys who built Pittsburgh and became major philanthropists, establishing libraries, and hospitals, and universities. Most of them were Protestants—Presbyterians to be specific. They weren’t perfect, but they contributed more to this country than the groups now trying to destroy it, and that includes RINOs like Bush.

Once again proving my point that the Bush Cheney Romney wing of the GOP absolutely hates the working class and people as Romney saw in the Utah speech have had it

I don’t KNOW that unless I listen to the silly podcast for myself.

Leaving a word out or putting a word in can change the slant of anything.

It is well past time for Bush to be called before God for judgment and to burn in hell for what he has done.

It’s hard to believe that someone this idiotic had access to the nuclear codes AND was reelected.
