Former President George W. Bush said he believes the Republican Party will win in future elections if its members embrace traditional ideals and curb the "white Anglo-Saxon Protestantism."
Asked about the state of the Republican Party, Bush told "The Dispatch Podcast" he believes there's potential to win in the upcoming midterm elections and the 2024 presidential election.
"I think Republicans will have a second chance to govern because I believe that the Biden administration is a uniting factor, particularly on the fiscal side of things," he said.
But the Republican Party will not win by representing ideals tied to white supremacy, he suggested.
"If the Republican Party stands for exclusivity - it used to be country clubs, now it's white Anglo-Saxon Protestantism - then it's not going to win anything," Bush said.

Bush is a “reactionary” in the classic sense of that term, he has no core values, he just reacts to things in ways that he thinks will preserve his illusory security. Basically he was played by his own party when in office, the Republican version of Joe Biden, a useful figure who appealed to a large segment of the voter base of that time, and was played like a fiddle by much smarter men who wanted to make a lot of money from a war. And they did.
We used to think W was a good guy but in retrospect I think whatever was good about the man was swamped by the dynamic of being played by sinister people and not seeming to realize that fact. If he had realized it, he could have become a great American hero. Trump sort of picked up where he should have gone after nobody was on the case for quite some time. And he may very well become that hero, if he can overturn the neo-con and globalist threats to America (I see them as partially separate agendas maybe even with some rivalries between them).
I don’t think Trump totally overcame the neo-con element in the Republican Party either. That would be a statement W could make — the Republican Party has a shot if it boots out its globalist and neo-con clown car elements.
GWB knows the Bush Clan is HISTORY..

Donald Trump did more to get the minority vote than any other Republican. Remember he went to black churches in 2016 and had Indians at the White House? Republicans don’t campaign in front of minority audiences.
