Defense Secretary Lloyd J. Austin III said on Thursday the Navy will investigate SEAL Eddie Gallagher over his admission in a recent interview that he did intend to kill an ISIS detainee despite being acquitted of the man's murder in 2019. (emphasis mine)

Gallagher made the bombshell admission in an interview on Apple's 'The Line' podcast on Tuesday regarding the 2017 death of a 17-year-old militant captive in Iraq.

So...what happen to the concept that once someone is acquitted, that person could scream 'I did it' and could not be charged. Is this going to lead to 'Double Jeopardy' anyway? The heck with the verdict, the dems are now in charge.

OTOH, I didn't hear the podcast, but assuming this article is accurate, wth is Gallagher talking about it at all??

According to the article, the Navy was fully aware that 'they' were doing medical procedures on the terrorist. They were using him for medical 'training' because he was almost dead and not expected to survive.

I just don't get this need for people to 'talk'.

Looking very quickly at what Gallagher is saying, it seems that his point is that their intention was to take out this ISIS scum on the battlefield so when he died despite all the medical procedures they did on him to save his life, it wasn't a huge concern. Again, quick read.

No I don’t think he is, I think he is now retired. But supposedly, after his acquittal, all benefits/honors etc were restored.

No Eddie Gallagher has been out for over a year...

He’s done a bunch of podcasts that are on YouTube, within the last month he did a 2-3 hour interview with Andy Stumpf a former Seal Team 6 operator on his podcast called Cleared Hot....

Get his book, according to Gallagher, he includes QR codes in the book that link to transcripts and audio recordings of those who testified against him...

Yes,after posting I saw his entry on wikipedia saying he's getting a Navy pension. I could be wrong but I believe that if they wanted to the Navy could recall him to active duty and court martial him. The military has done the very same thing before.
