The other day I wrote that “Woke” was the new conformism.
It is, of course, but I undersold it. It is much more than that and more dangerous.
As Tal Bachmann notes at Steynonline, it is now our state religion, a state religion in a country that—constitutionally and for good reason—is not supposed to have one.

“Woke” gains adherents much in the manner of “est”—the cult-like Erhard Seminars Training—that I attended in the 1970s at the behest of a movie producer interested in making a film about it. (It never happened.)
If you’re too in, you’re out.
For est, several hundred people sat in a large conference room listening to the “training” for hours under instructions not to get up, even to go to the bathroom, until they raised their hands signaling they “got it” (i. e., effectively joined the cult). Nature’s calling being what it is, most eventually did.
Although operationally similar, “woke” is exponentially more perilous than the now defunct est training. Our position in society, our livelihoods, our childrens’ educations and futures are being held over our heads, not our mere use of a rest room.
An iron-fisted, ideologically extreme minority has our country under its thumb—play along or face excommunication. This is stronger than anything in our history and almost identical to what we see and have seen in totalitarian countries.
It is a psychosis approaching mass hallucination. In Franco’s Spain, they shouted “Viva la muerte!” (“Long live death!”). Here we are asked to proclaim just as loudly “Black Lives Matter,” to display signs saying as much on our lawns, although we never thought otherwise, always thought (naively, we are told) that all lives mattered.

Civil war is doubtful......most people are too occupied trying to make a living and won’t get involved, or they are too lazy.
Just a few nutballs want a war...and most of them are over the hill blowhards.
At this rate making a living may be moot. Biteme’s economy is a disaster. When people can’t eat you get violence and it won’t be for lack of funds, but there are too many people in the wagon and not enough to pull it anymore.

Woke is the demonization of net positive society contributors, and the celebration of those who destroy what others have built, those who are a net negative burden on the producers, who glorify social pathologies that lead to decay and rot and misery while sneering at the white picket fence with clean maintained yards philosophy. They are desperate to sexualize children while destroying classical education in the name of fairness. Make a joke out of science and devolve it to a cult such that having math and science degrees with an OCD interest in a subject with decades of science and engineering experience is not enough of a shield to be scream down, and told that ai don’t understand science by a 20 year old who failed high school algebra.
Name one idea of wokeness that builds a better world. I can’t name one that doesn’t cause societal rot and decay. Are the autonomous zones the template for future life? Destruction? Grafitti? Crime? Garbage lining the streets? Might makes right? Who is delivering supplies? Why is the water, electricity, sewage still on? Who is paying for it? How long after they have outlived their usefulness will they continue to be subsidized? Why do they have rights to others property but so jealously guard their own.
Soon only the rich will be able to have educated children because it is all going to the lowest common denominator because of fairness. This will make class division more extreme. Will the poor eventually clash against the rich? I have been to Cambodia, the results of that are heartbreaking.

We already are in a Civil War. The shooting part just hasn’t started yet but it will.
Unfortunately, there is absolutely no way this ends without a major league bloodletting in this country. One only needs to study recent history to be able to see where this is heading.
