Eleven Republican states have announced they will decline federal coronavirus aid from President Joe Biden by withdrawing from the $300 per week enhanced unemployment scheme, with others set to follow.
Iowa and Idaho announced they were pulling out of the scheme on Wednesday morning hours after Republican governors in nine states withdrew in a bid to push workers back into the job market.
Last week, a Department of Labor report showed the country added an underwhelming 266,000 jobs in April, fueling GOP claims that the benefits were keeping people at home.

Interestingly, if those 11 and the other Republican dominated states stood together all the time, they could oppose anything and everything coming out of DC and the WH. Just like all the sanctuary cities and states did to President Trump.
Good idea
It’s a no win situation. Stopping the benefits will irritate people against the R’s Keeping the benefits destroys businesses.
Wait, welfare makes people not want to earn a living?
“...$300 unemployment benefit that makes it ‘impossible for employers to fill jobs...’” Pedo joe says there’s no evidence of that.
Mark Twain. “No amount of evidence will ever persuade an idiot.” Just sayin’..................
This idea of refusing federal money is not a workable form of resistance. We need something more forceful than this.
Once addicted to the $300 not-to-work handout, it’ll be hard to get them back to real world work, until the checking account empties, and the food runs out.

The goal of every politician should be to have as many people working full-time and productively as possible. This is the exact opposite of democrat policies, which are to have as many people as possible lobbing around poor and miserable, collecting money from the hard work of the people they hate so much.
good. the red states are then new line of defense. hold the line.
I see that McDonald’s, Walmart’s and Amazon’s lobbyist bribes worked.
Plenty of minimum-wage, no-skill, no-benefits jobs for all… 8 million, in fact. what are y’all waiting for? C’mon skilled blue-collar and white-collar workers that are still unemployed in the sectors of the economy still lock downed and closed, it’s only a 50% to 80% pay cut in most cases…
free refrigerator box or tent to live in with every job.
Many of the companies crying that there is no labor willing to work for them are the same companies that furloughed employees last year, enticing them to come back to work with up to 50% wage and hours cuts.
My skill-o-matic 9000 says skilled sound and lighting engineers can be the best fry cooks ever.
I dunno. I think the majority of the people who will be irritated are D anyway.
Local Subway has ONE person there who is so lacking in intelligence & energy that I wouldn’t buy anything if he was on duty.
We need more pushback like this. Biden’s goal is to maintain power at all costs. He feels that creating chaos will help him attain that goal. It’s only taken him 3 months to do this. Every executive order he signed didn’t benefit the American people at all only those few at the top.
Huh?
That sounds like the local KFC/Taco Bell. They can have three or four employees on but will take at least five minutes to get food, even if you are the only person waiting in the drive-through. Try talking to the manager, manager said that wasn’t acceptable wait time.
How that place still exists without corporate getting involved, I will never know.
While some may characterize this move as "resistance", it is actually just a common sense, conservative move to get people back to work. The fed money is litterally killing their small businesses.
It’s the same thing they did to Native Americans and with Johnson’s war on poverty; vomit out government money and create ghettos.
