More than 75 Asian and LGBTQ organizations issued a statement Wednesday rejecting the anti-Asian hate crime bill that recently soared through the Senate.

In Wednesday's statement, published on writer Jenn Fang's blog, "Reappropriate," activists called the bill a contradiction of "Asian solidarity with Black, Brown, undocumented, trans, low-income, sex worker, and other marginalized communities whose liberation is bound together."
The bill does not create "systemic change" and only increases "crime statistics collection," the organizations write.
Relying on crime statistics does not actually prevent violence, they argue, pointing to the 2009 Matthew Shepard Act.
The Matthew Shepard Act expanded federal hate crime categories to include sexual orientation and gender identity, but the statement notes that the U.S. continues to see high rates of deadly anti-trans violence.
Bolstering law enforcement "ignores that police violence is also anti-Asian violence, which has disproportionately targeted Black and Brown Asians," they write.

I was thinking the same thing. Asians are generally hard working and successful and don’t view themselves as victims. The dems want them to climb aboard the victim wagon.

I thought it was because “Asians” didn’t like being lumped together because so many nations have generational conflicts with other Asian nationalities.
They know who is actually committing the attacks, and don’t want the truth brought to light. Even if it means that blacks will continue to beat them to a pulp, protecting the leftist agenda is apparently more important.
That could be a factor as well I suppose.
All asians I have known or been exposed to were successful and hard working.
When a wave of Vietnamese came over in the 1970s they quickly started running businesses. Asian professionals I have worked with were brilliant and didn’t have much use for lazy people trying to game the system.
The Asians I work with (mostly Vietnamese) all supported Trump last year and still dislike Joseph Stolen.

In other words, “Most of these crimes are committed by blacks, so we can’t let it pass because it’ll make them look worse.”
Yes - the inherent contradictions of leftist totalitarianism are on full display whether on the issue of policing, fiscal and monetary policy, “climate change” economic policy, or illegal immigration. Unfortunately (or happily, depending on your POV) these contradictions are ripping what’s left of the Old Republic to shreds.
The clue is that LGBTQ is one of the "ethnic" groups.
