Why do you say they are, heralded?
They’re only heralded by themselves and the government that uses them as US version of the Stasi/KGB.
Most of their cases wreak of entrapment. And the only reason they get away with most of the convictions they do is most of the defendants cannot afford to fight them or the DOJ. And federal sentencing guidelines allow federal judges to impose a longer sentence if you “waste the courts time” and are found guilty, instead of taking the plea.
