The bottom line to anyone with an ounce of knowledge of military affairs is that Israel has indefensible borders without the West Bank territory, and to a certain extent the Golan. The Syrians used to snipe Israeli farm tractors with tank gunfire in “peacetime” from the Golan heights. That’s why they didn’t get them back after the war. The West Bank situation should be obvious to anyone who can read a map.
That's why Israel needs to make a decree rather than leave their destiny to the winds of public and world leader opinion.
