Obviously St. Patrick didn’t drive quite all the snakes out of Ireland. Or was that Scotland? Or is there a difference?

Geographically, yes. Scotland, aka Alba (once known as Albany) is essentially the northern half of the island of Britain. Scots Gaelic and Irish languages are very similar although not quite mutually intelligible. Also, the patron saint of Scotland is St. Andrew (the Apostle).
