Thursday, Gov. Kristi Noem (R-SD) spoke about the Biden administration’s decision to close Mount Rushmore for the Fourth of July festivities, a contrast to a year earlier when then-President Donald Trump spoke before a fireworks display.
The South Dakota Republican slammed the move, claiming it was part of the “radical left’s agenda.”
“You know, the decision was really arbitrary,” she said. “That’s why we’ll be appealing this decision, and the fight isn’t over. There wasn’t specific reasons that had credibility, and we call this an unlawful act to not make sure that we can conduct our celebration on July 3 at Mount Rushmore like we did last year.
“This is part of the radical left’s agenda,” Noem continued. “They don’t want to celebrate America or freedoms. They’re pushing critical race theory. They’re pushing the 1619 Project. And this is just another one of those battles to erase our trust, honest, and patriotic history in this country.”

That was the left's argument to stop the citizenship question on the census, that it was arbitrarily made. The judge wanted to see the process that was followed to decide to add the question.
I expect that standard to be gone when questioning Biden administration decisions.

If the political parties and membership were reversed what would a Democrat Governor do? I’m thinking there’d be fireworks at Mt Rushmore just for spite, regardless if the Dem wanted to celebrate the country’s independence.

I am aghast at this horrific grammar...I expect better from Breitbart or a Governor.
IF I owned a large parcel of land in that area, I would host the biggest July 4th Fireworks they would like to put on.

Everything she says is true. But she didn’t mind caving to transgender freaks to bring money to SD. I expect she’s objecting to this shutdown because it would negatively impact income to the state. She used to be someone who it seemed could sit in the Oval Office, but now I question her principles.
