Over 11 Million Americans Are Still On Pandemic Jobless Benefits (Despite 9 Million Job Openings)
Nation & State ^ | 6-10-2021

Posted on 06/10/2021 7:43:49 AM PDT by blam

Initial Jobless claims continued their slide week-over-week (from 385k to 376k), but remain near pandemic lows (but are still almost double those pre-pandemic levels)…

However, there are still over 15 million Americans on some form of government dole…

And despite over 9 million job openings, over 11 million Americans remain on some form of pandemic-specific unemployment benefits…

As the chart shows, there has been very little movement OFF the pandemic-based dole in over a year.

Will the Democrats ever allow those couch-sitters to be free of government handouts?

Just anecdotal evidence, is my recent experiences going out to dinner. The service was very slow, and it appeared that about 3 people were covering an entire Dennys restaurant.

Awww!!!

In the infamous words of Pelosi, they can be poets or artists and shouldn’t have to worry about money or insurance.

WE the taxpayer should be paying for their lazy loser lifestyles.

“We see it as an entrepreneurial bill,” Pelosi said, “a bill that says to someone, if you want to be creative and be a musician or whatever, you can leave your work, focus on your talent, your skill, your passion, your aspirations because you will have health care”

Heres more from up here in sacramento.

Went out to our favorite sushi restaurant. Waited way too long to get seated.

Of course it was because they had a few people working dinner time. Then

the service was horrible which never use to be the case. And of course the rolls have shrunk by about half the size but are more expensive.

“WE the taxpayer should be paying for their lazy loser lifestyles.”

~~~
I am starting to wonder if the middle class tax payer are the real idiots of this country. The smart ones are on the dole. The only way to avoid getting soaked by taxes if you are a productive member of this society is to leave it.
We can’t even have a peasants revolt. It’s not the peasants who are getting screwed. Wow these marxists are clever. Collapse of capitalism is inevitable at this point.
MY local 'homestyle meals' restaurant is open only three days a week, W, T, F.
Sign says due to lack of employees.
And as an example of liberal derangement my SIL does not believe that the extended unemployment benefits lead to people not going back to work. She is waaay old enough to know better.
Rush Maximus said that liberalism is a disease. Rush was usually right.
And yet they have once again upped the ante on tips. They actually expect 25%. If they get that, and they won’t from me, they are more than equal partners in the establishment and probably making more than the owners.
The other new feature I detect these days, the very little that we eat out, is they act like their job is some sort of profession that contributes to the “dining experience” and that they need to over the top interact with you some how.
Just take the order accurately and bring me my food. I don’t want a relationship with my waiter.
They also become bums, grifters, beggars, and panhandlers to supplement their government-subsided lifestyles.
I can hardly go about anywhere now without being hit with some sob story. Some might be legit. Nowadays I hardly go anywhere except for essentials. It’s order otherwise.
At times I’ve been penniless (most of time my own fault) and I never went crying out on the street to strangers.
I have access to a decent sized building where some project vehicles are I work on since I never plan on buying another new one.
Recently I’ve gotten to thinking even though it’s a high traffic area with lots of commercial and some local police since it’s around the corner, I’m going to shift some of the heavy stuff around with the gantry crane so I can roll my Tacoma in and close the bay door behind me.
I’ve never had a problem but even a fairly ok area these days one can’t be too careful. No one is out there but me most of the time.
The spouse might drop by but will usually call if needs something. Once in a great while a retired pal might roar up on his Goldwing bike. An older lady who looks after neighborhood feral cats sometimes says hello. That’s about it.
Every now and then one of the local cops says hello.
I’m used to the solitude and like if for the most part.
Eventually those project vehicles will be to the point where I will have to send them out for the bigger final jobs I can’t really do by myself. Mostly due to costs of equipment or I’m not really qualified to do or don’t have the extra hands. Things like major paint and body for example.
This is BS that people are needlessly getting worked up about.
Here’s the chart that shows the # unemployed per opening, after spiking initially last year, has come down to below our long-term averages:
