Taliban celebrates as they take possession of precision U.S. weapons, armored fighting vehicles Biden's military disaster

Leo Tolstoy wrote that "war is always pernicious even when successful."

The United States' ongoing withdrawal from Afghanistan demonstrates the truth of this claim.

Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid announced on Twitter that Taliban fighters overran government security forces with ease this week in the Maidan Wardak Province, just west of Kabul.

His posts included several pictures of booty from the conquest, which included American-made machine guns, rifles, carbines and armored vehicles.

"The enemy fled on seeing the casualties, and a large number of tanks, heavy and light weapons and ammunition fell into the hands of the Mujahideen," he tweeted.

News of the Taliban's successes is merely the latest in the movement's pernicious campaign to capitalize on the U.S. withdrawal, reassert its hegemony over Afghanistan and reinstate the government that the U.S. overthrew 20 years ago.

Alas, Afghan forces are unlikely to prevent a resurgence of the Taliban without American military presence. Despite the fact that America spent more than $2 trillion on the war effort and committed two decades of training efforts, Afghan security forces are, by all measures, a joke.

The way to eradicate Taliban is kill them in their homes...... wives, kids, mothers, fathers, uncles, aunts, cousins.

That is the only way to effectively deal with the Taliban

To hell with Euro laws of war. Kill and destroy the enemy, all the enemy, is the only way

This is not Biden’s military disaster. It is George W. Bush’s military disaster. Biden is just a bit player here, justt as Gerald Ford was during the Vietnam War.

My trust in our military and government is such that I would see this as a plan to come together by arming the Taliban. Upon killing American’s somewhere with the weapons, the Dems would then make their call to war.

"just a bit player here, justt as Gerald Ford was during the Vietnam War."

Leaning right or leaning Left? You seem to presume that the Vietnam war wasn't necessary - in other words, the Soviets, the Warsaw Pact, and the Chinese should have been allowed to support and push their clients, the North Vietnamese into solidifying communists power into Southeast Asia - and the control of the vital seaways that connect the rest of our allies in the area.

How much choice do you think that we really had?

Or are you actually a closet supporter of Ho Chi Minh?

George W. Bush repeated darn near every mistake LBJ made in Vietnam.

Obama, Trump, and now Biden could do little to reverse any of that. The die was cast. Sure, Biden is incompetent. And because of that, our withdrawal from Afghanistan will be messy and expensive. But Biden didn’t make the mess in the first place. George W. Bush did.

Wait until Sleepy Joe bombards them with billions of taxpayer cash, in the form of pallet on cash on their tarmacs

They won’t even need to haggle to buy weapons of mass destruction to use on our cities

We knew who the enemy was (and is) CHY-NA but lacked the balls to fight our enemy so we threw over 58,000 of our young men into a meat grinder in SE Asia only to be humiliated on the world stage.

The Navy could have kept the seaways open and we could have gone after China but n-o-o-o.

LBJ wanted to prove we could have both "guns and butter".

I will put aside your unnecessary personal insults, and try to have a decent and friendly conversation with you.

> You seem to presume that the Vietnam war wasn’t necessary... <

It was necessary, just as the war in Afghanistan was necessary. But if you’re going to fight a war, move smartly and fight it to win. LBJ never allowed the military to win in Vietnam.

George W. Bush had the lessons of Vietnam right in front of him. But Bush repeated most of LBJ’s mistakes anyway. We should never let W off the hook for that.

Rules of Engagement with Muslims -

If non-believing Infidels are present, Sunni sect will unite with Shi’a sect to enslave (physical, sexual, monetary) all Infidels and annihilate the rest

If no Infidels present, Sunni sect will turn against Shi’a sect and annihilate each other until there is a ‘winner’

This has not changed in the 1200 years of ever-expanding Islamic conquest.

This article is an example of jizrah, or the enemy paying for the privilege of engaging Muslims in their lands. You’d think it would be pretty obvious after 1200 years.

Hey "Leaning Left" - you haven't answered me yet. The main mistakes LBJ did was to incrementalize our deployments and to micromanage targets on the mistaken belief that the NVA were rational - and the very real fear that if we directly invaded North Vietnam or attacked Soviet assets in North Vietnam, that they or the Chinese would enter the war directly.

But as far as the Vietnam War goes, it was necessary in that corner of the Cold War.

Trust me: I was there and invested some my own body in the process. The real shame for the American people and our Congress and eventually Gerald Ford was that we quit on the South Vietnamese.

Things are about to go very bad in Afghanistan.

There are 4 million Hazara in Afghanistan who sided with us and will be massacred if the Taliban take-over.

We need to prepare for one of the largest refugee problems in history and pressure to import hundreds of thousands of our former allies to the US.
