RE: Back to the 70s
There are several books about the early 1960s folk music trend. They describe and show pictures of teenagers or people in their 20s playing guitars, banjos or autoharps and singing in Washington Square Park. Limeliters, Kingston Trio or Pete Seeger if not Woody Guthrie and Leadbelly songs.
Then crackdowns and police beating them with billy clubs, kicking them and pushing them into paddy wagons to head to jail. Then repeat.
The American people should have quit while they were ahead. Youth singing folk songs was nothing like the meth head, machete wielding and hammer smashing current occupants of the area. Those good old days are gone. “This land is your land....”
