GOP ramps up misleading attack on Democrats’ policing policy
The Associated Press ^ | June 13, 2021 | By THOMAS BEAUMONT (D-AP)

... As rising murder rates gain attention in American cities, Republicans have ramped up a misleading campaign to cast Democrats as anti-police and lax on public safety. It’s a message they believe helped them stave off greater Democratic gains in last year’s elections and one with renewed potency as cities consider cuts to department budgets as part of an effort to revamp policing.

It’s not at all clear that the GOP strategy, which stretches back to President Richard Nixon and was used by President Donald Trump, is a winning one. But it may be prominent as Republicans search for ways to gain ground in suburban areas critical to winning control of the U.S. House next year.

It’s true that violent crime has risen. The FBI’s National Incident-Based Reporting System recorded 25% more homicides in 2020 than in 2019, and 12% more violent assaults. But the increase in homicides is nationwide, including in some cities that increased police spending and in some cities led by Republicans.

Other crimes such as burglaries, drug offenses and other categories, however, have decreased.

It also is not accurate to describe Democrats as uniformly supportive of “defund the police” efforts.

So telling the truth is a “misleading strategy”. The AP is scared to death that people will realize it is the truth.

Show me one headline where the words “misleading,” “false,” or “debunked” are used on Democrat claims, policies, or legislation.

I’ll hold my breath.

Exactly.

Videos by the hundreds of prominent dims, city councils and others demanding defunding and in many cases dismissing police departments.

Same old story: “Believe me or your lying eyes?”.

Another day yet more Dem talking points, propaganda and disinformation from the Ass Press disguised as news.
One of the things that need to be done when we take over is to declare all fake news media as Dem Party super pacs and deal harshly with them accordingly.

Drug offensive could have decreased a) lack of policing and b) drug legalization
Turning a career criminal who died of a drug overdose into a martyr and telling blacks that they are allowed to commit crimes because of the color of their skin might have to do with the increase of murder more than what city has cut back on police funding (though that doesn’t help)

Why in the ---- does anyone tolerate explicit leftwing editorializing in the headline as a matter of course?

The Press is the Enemy of the People.

I’m a seasoned citizen now, but as a young-un I worked in media (please forgive me).

Back in those days, the Associated Press was actually a credible, respected news organization.

But, of course, that was a long, long time ago.

With the Left's propaganda organs, it's always the same message: GOP/conservatives are BAD. Dem/Woke are GOOD.

It's so predictable and unsophisticated you'd swear the headlines were written by school kids.

FORBES -At Least 13 Cities Are Defunding Their Police Departments:*

At least 13 U.S. cities have cut funding from police department budgets or decreased officer numbers with several more in the process. As of last August: 2020/08/13/

Austin, Texas, was the latest city to announce a police defunding effort, with the City Council on Thursday voting unanimously to cut $150 million (roughly one third) from the police budget

Austin’s announcement closely follows the sweeping budget change approved by Seattle—a $3.5 million budget cut . The country’s two largest cities, New York and Los Angeles, approved budget cuts weeks after protests began—New York slashed $1 billion from its $5.6 billion operating budget while Los Angeles approved a $150 million budget cut from its budget. Also in California, San Francisco approved a $120 million cut to the police and sheriff’s department.*

Reports: Mass exodus of retiring police officers may lead to a national public safety crisis
Law Enforcement Today ^ | 04/27/2021 | Anita Job
Posted on 4/27/2021, 7:42:08 AM by Pining_4_TX

There are growing concerns that the mass retirements of police officers throughout the country may lead to a national public safety crisis.

Between losing experienced law enforcement personnel and not having enough officers, some are suggesting the mass exodus will compromise people’s safety, especially in major U.S. cities.

(Excerpt) Read more at lawenforcementtoday.com …

Detroit Police Chief James Craig has some concerns about the Department of Justice’s new and widespread investigations into police departments across the nation, as well as the new George Floyd Justice in Policing Act that would effectively destroy local police and give the federal government the power to police us all.

What will the Super Rich Elites, do when their blue city mayors replace their city cops with Sharia Muslims and other social workers with BLMers/Antifas?

The fact that our cities will become far less safe means nothing to these untalented elites. Why would it? Many of them have very elaborate security details, and don’t have to worry about their safety.

Those Elites hire our unemployed and well trained former Special Ops people and former tough cops. Who are no longer wanted in our worthless SJW/PC military and Blue Cities.

When hired, these new non cops will handle any protection issues their super rich Elites might need 24/7. That will include special preventive action as well as ‘neutralizing’, when needed.

These former special ops and former tough city cops in their new areas of action, will operate, react and control/end any issues without any problems from so called local cops/DA’s, mayors and the local mediots in their areas..

The blue city mayors and city council members will welcome these Special People, while slashing their own city police budgets and eliminating their regular police. Their costs will be minimized and their budgets will be balanced.

How many mayors/governors in Blue States/Cities would get rid of their police forces in a New York minute, if they were not opposed by their elites, who control them????

These former special ops and tough former cops might even protect members of Congress from Deploreables if they are needed like on 6 January, this year in our capitol building in DC.

Other crimes such as burglaries, drug offenses and other categories, however, have decreased.

Since people who are participating in drug sales are generally there voluntarily, there is no one to report the crime to the police unless it is a third party like a relative or neighbor. If the police and prosecutors decide to ignore drug dealing then the number of counted offenses will go down. Similarly, if they make it clear that burglaries don't matter and won't be prosecuted, then they only get reported for insurance claims.
