Well, Texas does have the right to declare war on Mexico or the cartels, or whoever else is invading its borders, as do any of the other states.

Maybe, but Abbott can’t even deal with the state’s power availability issues. He would turtle-up during live fire with Mexico.

I have a feeling you’re not just making that up. But where is that power enumerated in the US Constitution? Return fire, sure. But declaring war sounds more like the prerogative of Congress. That itself begs the question whether Congress has the power to declare unconditional surrender. And if there is a state version of that, would Texas be allowed unilaterally to rejoin Mexico?
