Russ Vought, former President Donald Trump’s White House budget director president of the Center for Renewing America (CRA), and Tom Jones, American Accountability Foundation (AAF) President, will launch the “Congressional Pork Map” accountability project on Thursday, Breitbart News has learned exclusively.

Vought and Jones’ goal is to expose Republican and Democrats’ most “corruptive” earmarks and hold lawmakers accountable for their lobbying for pork in various bills.

The AAF and CRA project aims to hold Republicans and Democrats accountable for stuffing legislation with special interest projects.

The Congressional Pork Map project serves as an interactive map so that Americans can see where lawmakers added earmarks to their districts. Further, the project allows constituents to add info about the projects to expose potential interests at play with the earmarks.

Problem is, Republicans are budget hawks...until they get into power. Then, it's THEIR pork that THEY spread around.

Also, for his greatness, President Donald J. Trump was never a fiscal conservative, and showed no inclination to rein in the budget.

Does this feel like a 1990s throwback act to anyone else? Back to a different era when anyone cared about the debt and deficit.

Start handing out William Proxmire’s “Golden Fleece” awards...

This is a great idea but who’s going to pay attention? The budgets will show nothing BUT pork.

How about investigating corruption?

That was probably my biggest gripe about President Trump.

I kept wanting to see him take steps to cut the insane government spending and cut the pork out of our budget, and he just never did.

And that was one of the reasons I wanted him int he white house, I’ve said for 30 years we needed someone who met several criteria -

Not a politician.
Too rich to be bought.
Listens to the people instead of the lobbyist groups.
Has the business sense to realize the government cannot spend more than it makes.

Trump made that list happy. And I thought he would do some serious pruning to the budget...it never happened. Probably my biggest disappointment.

That was probably my biggest gripe about President Trump.

It's not easy draining a swamp that has grown for 200 years. My biggest regret is not Trump, it is state governors who if they have the legislature have immense power to correct problems, like the failed K-12 systems and the corrupt electoral process. DeSantis is showing me he will take on both, that's where the true change comes from. The Federal government can also do a lot, like pass bills to facilitate the state level changes.

You have some good points, and I don’t disagree.

But I also think Trump should have pushed a lot harder for the swamp critters to trim the budget a lot better. I don’t blame him for it alone, he had maybe a dozen people on his side altogether in all of DC, so he was fighting the entire government to get anything done at all. I’m amazed at what he did accpomplish, which was quite a lot. But I think he should have pushed them harder to trim the budget.

Desantis is one I’m really liking a lot too. If Trump decides not to run, which I doubt, DeSantis is most likely our next best bet.

In case you don’t remember, Trump was under siege Soviet-style throughout his whole presidency. And McConnell surrendered the most effective tool to cut spending, building the wall.

Do you mean the budget that he didn’t control?

The budget that the House controls?

The budget that he tried to cut and was blocked by Republicans in the Senate and House, where they forced more CRs on him?

The man was only able to do so much.

Unlike his predecessor he actually followed the rules.

WTF did you want him to do.

He was on defense from EVERYONE from Day 1.

And he still got stuff done.

Are people so quick to forget that he tried to cut spending but Ryan and McConnell blocked him along with their Democrat pals.

Umm I know that. I said it too...here’s a copy & paste:

I don’t blame him for it alone, he had maybe a dozen people on his side altogether in all of DC, so he was fighting the entire government to get anything done at all.

Which is exactly what both of you implied, just in different words.

Geezzz...stop going ballistic every time someone points out that Donald Trump is not perfect. You act like you’re democrats defending obama...

Trump is not perfect. He did make mistakes, whether you like it or not. I’m not bashing him if I point out those mistakes, just being honest. ANd Ido wish he had pushed harder for the swamp critters to trim some fat of the budget.

I know he had the entire swamp against him all the way, that’s obvious. But from what I saw, I would have wanted him to push them harder to get the budget in line. He did try, I give him full credit. He got more done in one term than stompy feet, dubya and slick willie did in their entire 24 years. That doesnt mean I have to worship the ground he walks on and can’t point out mistakes. He’s not stompy feet and I’m not a brain dead liberal.
