Mexico hit by 242 earthquakes - and the bizarre swarm could form new Ring of Fire volcano

A NEW volcano may be forming beneath Mexico after hundreds of small tremors occurred in the west of the country, experts have revealed.

Between May 1 and June 8 of this year, 242 microseisms shook Michoacán. Most of the earthquakes were not noticeable to humans, but the increased activity has led scientists to believe something larger is happening.

A similar phenomenon occurred in the same place, which is known as a volcanic hotspot, 1997, 1999, and 2006.

Researchers from the Institute of Geophysics at the National Autonomous University (UNAM) also said there were more than 300 micro-quakes in the same area in the first four months of 2021.

All of this lends itself to the suggestion that there is seismic unrest beneath the surface, which is near to Mexico City.

The experts believe the swarms could mean magma is on the move, which could ultimately burst through the surface to form a new volcano.

The article sounds hyped to me. Of course anything can happen. They had that volcano pop out of a cornfield in 1943,reaching 165 feet in less than 1 day. But I see nothing in the article to support the premise stated in the headline. News is so cool when you can just make it up

Ring of Fire by Anita Carter

Love is a burning thing
And it makes a fiery ring
Bound by wild desire
I fell into a ring of fire

I fell into a burning ring of fire
I went down, down, down and the flames went higher
And it burns, burns, burns
The ring of fire, the ring of fire

I remember when St Helens blew. it was mostly ash and dirt, which ended up going east into Montana.

An old guy named Harry R Truman said he would live on the mountain all his life, and he did

I believe the last new volcano in Mexico was the Cornfield Volcano in ‘43...Paricutin.

I would be super worried about what might happen in a few thousand years, if I lived there.

Michoacán, isn’t that the most violent province in Mexico?

One of them. It used to be just super poor, but now it’s decapitated bodies in the town squares and drug gangs burning the courthouses down.

Of course, before it was just super poor, it was awful violence. It’s a flat circle: poverty, violence, poverty, violence.

My church choir co-leader is from Michoacan.

There is Kilimanjaro ... in Tanzania. Then there is Mt. Cameroon and Mt. Meru, which is beautiful and has a side blasted away like Mt. St. Helens. ....And, there’s a bunch of others in Africa.

‘Ring of Fire’ was a decent movie, (from 1960 or 1961 iirc), with David Janssen in the lead role.

Nice to know Mother Earth is woke. But that Graphic did not show any of them so therefore America is systemically Raaaaacist and we need more Government controls and taxes to fix it! /s

Yes. I saw the movie I Walk the Line with Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon where she was writing the song and read the articles but the songwriting credit in the A-Z Lyrics site differed. Why? I don’t know. Was there a legal name problem?

I’m going to go with June Carter Cash as the writer from now on. Fuhhhhhggggedddaboutit, A-Z Lyrics.

Come on up, everybody. The welfare's fine and you can have your family sleep on beds while the racist Americans sleep on the floor in their own homes and support you.
