They caved and the judge was an ass. They turned in the guns “not” used against the aggressors but could have been if needed in a plea deal.
Buying new ones is just gamesmanship to look tough.
They did nothing wrong but took a plea deal..

Buying more guns was a big FU to the judge and DA, who deserved it.
I don't think it was just to look tough.

They did nothing wrong but took a plea deal.
Governor Parsons promised a pardon, but under Missouri law could not grant it until the case was settled one way or another. By taking the misdemeanor plea deal, the Governor can erase their ‘crime’. Just have to wait to see if he follows through on his promise.
