The Llano Chamber of Commerce has apologized for a Juneteenth marquee that caused controversy on Saturday.
The marquee read "Happy Juneteenth," followed by, "You're free. Stand up and live like it" and a reference to the Bible verse Galatians 5:1. The verse itself reads, "It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery."
Some residents were upset with the marquee. One KVUE viewer reached out, saying the marquee was "insensitive toward Black people" and "patronizing when it needs to [be] apologetic."
"It's saying freedom is given to Black people and their descendants do not know how to live free," the viewer wrote. "That Bible verse does not have anything to do with Juneteenth context."

Why does all these morons apologize .

It was Shelby Steele, I believe, in an interview with mark levin who said black people do not know how to be free.
Some people just want to be miserable and unhappy. Wish everyone else would just ignore them.
Never apologize in situations like that.
Those offended will not accept it, the rest have no need.
Apologies only make everyone unhappy.
They continue to live in the past’s slavery, and therefore have no present or future.
Juneteenth isn’t a day about demanding apologies.
It’s a day to celebrate freedom and possibly to remember those who came before you and didn’t have it so good.
But making it a day to air grievances is not what it ever was and festivus is just a gag.

May as well have slapped them in the face and called them names...

Apologizing for stating the truth indicates a character deficiency and a lack of gonads. Grow a pair, Llano Chamber of Commerce.

That sign is completely appropriate. And as for freedom given to black people? That’s exactly what happened. My Republican ancestors fought and died to give blacks freedom. Let’s never forget, every Juneteenth, blacks should thank white Republicans for what they have been given.

Exactly right. On July 4, 1776 patriots declared their freedom. They went and fought and died for freedom.
On June 19, 1865 blacks were told they were free. They deserved to be free but for the most part they did not earn their freedom.
Until then, Your free, live like it!

That is the current "American" way of life...
