New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) has declared a state of emergency in his state due to the recent uptick in gun violence.
“Today I am issuing an Executive Order declaring a Disaster Emergency on gun violence. Gun violence is a public health crisis, and we must treat it like one,” Cuomo wrote in a tweet on Tuesday. “This declaration will allow us to give this crisis the full attention & resources it deserves.”

Is this absolute asshat kidding me? Let’s see: They got rid of bail, they defunded the cops by 1.4 BILLION dollars, they got rid of stop and frisk in heavy gang areas, they won’t let cops do their jobs. I don’t know, what ever could the problem?
Is this him specifically at violent neighborhoods, or just a political ploy to impose on the entire state?

Last I looked unregistered handguns were illegal in NYS... so places were unregistered guns are sold should already be closed down by cops.. Obviously the current laws aren't working what makes him think his "new" plan will??

It’s unbelievable isn’t it. I said last year Cuomos mass murder will be brushed under the rug and people were telling me no way. Well here are in July 2021 and the media and politicians on both sides act like it never even happened.

Purchase of firearms in NYS: No NYS permit is required for long guns. Handguns require a permit. Permits are issued by County or State Supreme Court judges/justices outside of New York City, Westchester, Nassau and Suffolk Counties, with a background check. Permits for those wanting to carry concealed are issued on a "may issue" basis, whereas permits to merely purchase and possess handguns in the home are issued on a "shall issue" basis. There is an application fee for each permit, as well as an amendment fee for each handgun added to the permit. NOTE: Different laws apply for NYC
Firearm registration: No registration for long guns. All handguns must be registered under a license. There is a $3 registration fee. Handguns are registered with purchase permit. The serial number and sale is noted down. It is illegal to possess any un-registered firearm. Antique weapons are exempted from this. All handguns must travel in the manner one's license is issued.
