(CNN)Twenty four states have seen an uptick of at least 10% in Covid-19 cases over the past week as health experts and the federal government keep pressing for more people to get vaccinated.
The rapid spread of the Delta variant of the coronavirus has only ratcheted up the pressure.
We should think about the Delta variant as the 2020 version of Covid-19 on steroids," Andy Slavitt, a former senior adviser to Joe Biden's Covid Response Team, told CNN on Wednesday. "It's twice as infectious. Fortunately, unlike 2020, we actually have a tool that stops the Delta variant in its tracks: It's called vaccine."

It’s LESS likely to be lethal. This is the normal evolutionary progress of every virus: more infectious, less lethal.
Yeah, if this Delta is on steroids then shouldn’t hospitalizations and deaths be skyrocketing, particularly among the unvaccinated? Yet we aren’t hearing ANYTHING about that - just about “cases” and how “contagious” it is.
Imagine if we fearmongered about every single common cold like this.
If given the chance, they’ll ALWAYS have these “variants” to hang over the population and in their back pocket. For when the time comes to lock the proles back in and start printing up a new batch of “mail in ballots”.
Funny there were very few if any Democrat politicians sick with covid.
“Cases increasing in nearly half the US states” means it is going down in the majority of states. Deaths continue at an insignificant rate, often whole states going without a single death. Singapore is no longer even recording covid as a separate category, treating it like any other illness. But the fear porn will continue, desperately trying to stretch it to the next year’s election.
They also have much more effective treatments for COVID, so the mortality rate shouldn't be as bad.
Or holding steady in those states.
They all got vaccinated.
