Pssst, it wasn’t the Christians in those nations that undertook the atrocities. Just because someone calls themselves Christian doesn’t mean they are saved. Heck, we have men calling themselves women, and women calling themselves men, and both genders calling themselves whatever they want. Doesn’t mean they are.

The true Christians were the ones who were persecuted, not the ones doing the persecuting

Turn the other cheek has a ery narrow application and meaning. It does not mean allow someone to wail the snot out of you if they want to. What it does mean is, do not seek revenge, to get rid of their desires to get back at their enemies. This does not mean that one can’t war against their enemies when it’s called for In order to be on the defense as well. Jesus siml, simp, does not want us to seek revenge everytime someone wrongs us In so me way.

Jesus didn’t physically turn the other cheek when he was attacked before it was time for His Ppointed sacrifice, neither did Paul whe. He was attacked several times, but they did not take revenge on their attaxkers either, they simpl y defended themselves as was their right to do so.

Turn the other cheek is a misunderstood passage that those who hate us love to throw in our faces because they thi k it means that we must a,low whoever hates us to do whatever they like to us, or else we aren’t ‘Good christians’ - nothing could be further fro the truth

In fact, the Bible tell us in several places that we have a duty to protect ourselves, our families, and others as well when needed. We are not to sit back and just allow evil to beat the tar out of us while we pray that God will ‘see us through it’

Christ didn’t ‘turn the other cheek as people understand it when He drove the money lenders out of the temple. He was doing what had to be done, without malice like some folks would as they ‘seek revenge against their enemies. That is where Christ comes along and tells us to put the brakes on our desires to ‘bet back at those that hate us and harm us, and we must ‘turn. The other cheek’ (resist the evil desire to get even) 7x70 times if necessary
