Vietnam recorded 2,807 new local Covid-19 cases Sunday evening, pushing the day's tally to an all-time high of 5,887.
Among the night's tally, Ho Chi Minh City, the epicenter of the ongoing fourth coronavirus wave, recorded 2,310 cases. It was followed by the southern provinces of Dong Nai and Binh Duong with 65 and 64 cases, respectively. The remaining cases were recorded in 23 other provinces and cities.
Of the new cases, 2,108 were contained within quarantine centers or lockdown areas.
The rest either had contact with previously confirmed cases or are being contact traced.
Vietnam saw the biggest daily spike of Covid-19 on Sunday with 5,887 cases, with the majority in HCMC (4,692).

The close-down has been severe, in the south section of the country.
It is now one week the southern portion has been closed, hopefully we may be approaching some sort of slow-down anyway. Though not yet,
However Vietnam badly needs many, many more doses of immunizations. Lots, lots more.
Only 5,000,000 people, out of 100,000,000 have immunizations yet.
America, please help us out!!
(I can say that becsuse I am American)
Tens of millions please! :)
Thank you USA
I am sorry to hear about Vietnam...
Is there a mask mandate in Vietnam at this time? Like everyone has to wear a mask at all times...
Before this outbreak, was there a mask mandate in Vietnam?
Do you know if hydroxychloroquine and ivermectin are used to treat Covid patients in Vietnam? Many FR members do not believe in vaccines but believe in those medications...
Well you can have mine.
The entire city of Ho Chi Minh Is closed down. No traffic, stores are closed, all the restaurants are closed. There are security guards around the city checking everyone has a legitimate reason to be out, otherwise they are fined and sent back.
This has been happening for a week. Other towns in the south are also closed, they are maybe moving closer to also (maybe) closing Hanoi. We will see.
It is really odd, how closed things are.
From the comments (not here, but on the post itself) it seems there is at least one person who just doesn’t get it, at all.
There is a big city, closed now.
I have not been out of my apartment, for the last month.
Help us (and the other countries around here) out.
SEND VACCINES. Lots of them.
Thanks.
Oh by the way, no hydroxychloroquine.
About a year ago some guy took some on his own and took too much, I think (that is what I was told anyway) and the government stopped the sale of it.
So, no hydroxychloroquine.
(At least to the public)
Population: 98 million
Yesterday’s COVID death total: 29
Two days ago death total: 0

Yes but remember, Vietnam has no real history of this disease.
Up until about a month ago, there was very little.
The entire outbreak has pretty much happened, in the last two weeks.
OK, so they’re at the point the US was in mid-March 2020. Based on the US experience over the last 16 months, what have we learned? - What should happen in Vietnam?
Answer: Stay open. Don’t fear a 99.8% survival rate cold. Don’t rely on an experimental, do-much-harm baby-cell-tested “vaccine” that improves absolute risk of getting mild covid by less than 1%.
Heh.
Absolute opposite of what is happening.
100%. Soon enough, we will maybe start to understand which approach is better.
But in the meantime, we need LOTS of vaccines.
US please help us out! I know already you have been helping quite a bit, but please MORE.
You are now almost done. We are barely starting here, and we need not millions, but TENS OF MILLIONS of vaccines. Soon.
Now.
Please. :)
No upgraded design (for comfort) quality(!) N95 masks for the public in Vietnam, either, eh?
The US has a growing surplus of what are, essentially, surplus shots, so, we should be able to help. Trump would cut a deal to benefit both parties. ;-)
Given its current direction, Vietnam will probably become a âÂÂvaccinationâ required country. In the bigger globalist future for us - The Great Reset - Vietnam's interest as a developing country will be served. My hope at the very least is for people will wake up from sheep and become independently informed; not useful idiots who participate and champion their own elimination.
It looks today, like (maybe) Vietnam may be starting to see some results from their shut-down of southern Virtnam.
It has only been going on one week, but it appears (maybe) the number of new cases (may) be leveling off.
We will see. I have no qualms with anything about Vietnam, but I (myself) want to get vaccinated. My age is enough that I want to get vaccinated.
I also want my wife to get vaccinated.
As for Vietnamese in general, the country seems to be very serious about vaccinations. However the average age of Vietnamese, is not high, so I am not certain whether everyone will need vaccines,
But that is not my concern.
However America again I ask if possible, please send more.
:)
