That whole thing turned out much cooler than I thought it would when it was announced. Those players were Americans who didn't like the rest of the world thinking it could beat us at our game. So they truly saw themselves as representing the country. Incredible what has happened to attitudes since then.
I have most of the documentaries about that team, which is more important than the overhyped Bulls ESPN series. They did and actually care about being an American. If people thought that Barkley is a conservative siding with cops during the BLM violence last year, listen to him back then he makes logical sense in a funny way.
