Mark Twain once mused that if you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.
There will be no pause or reflection by the House Select Committee investigating the January 6th attack on the Capitol. That became abundantly plain as the hearings opened on Tuesday. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi won’t allow it. Her narrative of what happened that terrible day will be the only one permitted – all other facts be damned.
Pelosi’s Democratic Party is the majority in the House of Representatives, albeit narrowly. As Speaker, she rules like a tyrant. She abides no dissent, tolerates no differing opinion, and is contemptuous of the truth. Only her truth is indulged. Any contrary evidence will be suppressed or covered up.
Pelosi has no interest in the full story of what actually happened on January 6th. She blames the great villain Donald Trump for everything and will countenance no other inquiry or outcome. You must believe her or else.
For Pelosi, it is not enough that the rioters who committed crimes are being prosecuted. Nor that Trump was impeached (and acquitted) after he left office. No, Pelosi demands more. Under threat of losing the majority in the mid-term elections next year, she engineered a purely biased committee to do her bidding. Its conclusions are pre-ordained, likely written by Pelosi herself.
Ruthless Nancy is nothing if not obvious in her motives. With her stranglehold on power in serious jeopardy, she is determined to keep battering Trump as her party’s political piñata hoping that votes will drop out like candies. But her more pressing objective is to deflect responsibility for her own suspected malfeasance.
A fair, objective, and truth-seeking committee would surely investigate why our nation’s Capitol was significantly unprotected on January 6th,...

She called it a protest about a youtube video that got out of hand, not a planned terrorist attack. She also told her daughter Chelsea on the day of the attack that it WAS a terrorist attack. What was Chelsea’s security clearance to be privileged to such information when the public and Congress were being told a lie?

Which Democrat legislators used to routinely give access passes to members of Code Pink that they used to assault members of the Bush administration inside Federal buildings?
She turned down the offer from Trump to supply 10,000 in guards. Something tells me that Trump knew they maybe setting up for something. Had that added security (even if it was 1000 added troops) would have been plenty to detour radicals from rushing the Capitol.
And while everyone talks about this then negotiations go on out of sight for the sh*tty infrastructure bill and back room shenanigans. Right on plan.

The mere fact that it took her seven months to begin hearings is all we really need to know. Lawyers have a cardinal rule about putting on witnesses; never ask a question that you don’t already know how it will be answered. It took seven months to assemble witnesses that would say what they want to hear. This is a political show trial. Why don’t they ask the participants why they were there (to protest a lack of investigation into ballot stuffing) and what they witnessed (Capitol police allowing them in, antifa and FBI agent provocateurs fighting police and an unarmed protestor murdered by capitol police that was swept under the rug).

It all begins and ends with Pelosi but nothing will ever happen to her.
I believe it is the Speakers responsibility to add more police presence when there are major activities by the White House grounds. She either put the call to get the troupes to late or not at all. It is her fault Jan 6 happened.
