Walmart Inc. WMT 0.28% is reinstating a mask mandate for workers in U.S. counties deemed at high risk of Covid-19 transmission, another sign that federal guidelines issued earlier this week have wide business implications.11 mins ago

Walmart reimposes mask requirements for employees in high-risk areas, and will recommend shoppers wear masks at all stores

Áine Cain and Allana Akhtar Jul 30, 2021, 10:33 AM

On July 27, the CDC updated their recommendations for fully-vaccinated individuals. Now, the organization recommends that vaccinated individuals “wear a mask in public indoor settings” if they live in an area with “substantial or high transmission” of the COVID-19 Delta variant. Fully-vaccinated individuals can still spread the Delta variant of the virus. A leaked CDC presentation recently described the Delta variant as being “as contagious as chicken pox.”

In a memo sent out to “field associates,” Chief People Officer Donna Morris and EVP of Health and Wellnesss Dr. Cheryl Pegus wrote that the rules will not apply to all stores.

“Managers will refer to the CDC site for updates relevant to their county each Monday,” they wrote in the memo. “Customers are strongly encouraged to wear masks, but not required.”

A governor can do that. A company cannot.

My options continue to narrow back down again. And things were looking so good just a few short weeks ago.

People were just having too much fun. Have to shut that down right away.

Was at my Nevada Wells Fargo bank and the tellers were STILL wearing masks.

Did my usual “Are they still making you wear those stupid masks?”

“Oh yes.”

“They just can’t stop trying to control the public, aren’t they?”

“Oh, but we have to stop the spread.”

When I got outside, I wanted to yell at God for putting such sheep on the planet.

So...COVID-19 doesn’t follow geographic radii and instead knows where the county lines are.

That's because they know it simply won't work in some places. Here in rural MO, there was always a few of us who didn't wear a mask or follow the arrows on the floor. Didn't take long for them to get rid of the masks required signs, roped off entrance paths and peel the arrows off the floor.

Helps that some of the workers would stand outside with their mask on their chin and have a conversation with some shopper they knew, who was unmasked. Didn't distance for the conversation either. I imagine district managers just shook their head when they made a visit. LOL

Los Angeles requires masks again. Does Walmart announcement override the edits of the democrat party?

This one is in Porter Ranch in the San Fernando valley. That is about 30 miles by flying using a jetpack from downtown LA.
