Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson are still confident that their vaccines can protect against COVID-19 variants and serious illness, despite CDC report warning about hundreds of breakthrough infections in one small town

Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson are still confident that their vaccines can protect against COVID-19 variants despite a recent report warning about hundreds of breakthrough infections in a Massachusetts town.

The new study from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention focused on an outbreak in the Cape Cod town of Provincetown, a heavy tourist hotspot in Barnstable County, after the July 4 weekend.

Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson told Fox News that they remain certain that their vaccines prevent severe illness and death despite the alarming report amid the spread of the Delta variant.

Moderna, the third major COVID-19 vaccine maker in the United States, did not appear to address the efficacy of the vaccine with Fox News.

DailyMail.com has reached out to the three vaccine makers for more information and additional comment in the wake of the CDC study.

'The vaccine continues to be highly efficacious in preventing COVID-19, including variants and to date, no variant, including Delta, appears to have escaped the protection of the vaccine,' Pfizer said in a statement to Fox News.

'Furthermore, two doses of BNT162b2 continue to show high efficacy from preventing severe disease and hospitalizations.'

Pfizer reportedly declined to comment on the CDC data to Fox News.

Johnson & Johnson also maintained their vaccine while backing a recent change to federal mask guidance. The CDC recommended last Tuesday that even those who are fully vaccinated should wear masks in indoor public settings in areas where COVID-19 transmission is high or substantial.

'All authorized COVID-19 vaccines have been shown to help prevent infection and reduce the severity of illness, which is why COVID-19 vaccinations are such an important tool to help end the pandemic,' Johnson & Johnson told Fox News.

'As noted by the CDC, though a small percentage of people who are fully vaccinated can still get COVID-19, developing severe illness is still a rare occurrence.'

Johnson & Johnson reiterated findings from the CDC study which found that, of the 469 cases of breakthrough infections observed in Barnstable County, only 1.2% were hospitalized.

'As of July 27, no deaths were reported in the cases the CDC studied, which is a sign vaccination is working as intended,' Johnson & Johnson told Fox News.

“There were five COVID-19 patients who were hospitalized, four of whom were fully vaccinated”

"Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson are still confident that their vaccines can protect against COVID-19 variants despite a recent report warning about hundreds of breakthrough infections in a Massachusetts town."

First, I only see 882 cases listed in the outbreak.

Second, there are 2,952 residents of Provincetown, MA.

Did each resident get infected 100 times? Or is this just crap reporting?

Scratch that, my tired eyes completely misread that as “hundreds of thousands”.

My mistake!

Provincetown is hardly representative of the average American town. Provincetown is a latter day Sodom, almost 100% homosexual. During the summer months it is a 24 hour per day cesspool of homosexual orgies replete with venereal disease and rampant drug and alcohol use.

If you want to catch a disease, Provincetown is the place to go. If they won't take precautions against AIDS and venereal disease, why would anyone expect that they would take precautions against Covid?

The Gay Festival Behind the CDC’s New Mask Guidelines

by ROBERT STACY MCCAIN  August 2, 2021, 12:31 AM

ABC News published a story on Thursday headlined: CDC mask decision followed stunning findings from Cape Cod beach outbreak.” The article by Anne Flaherty and Arielle Mitropoulos explained how more than 800 people — 74 percent of whom had already been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 — tested positive for the coronavirus in the aftermath of Fourth of July celebrations in Provincetown, Massachusetts.

“The initial findings of the investigation led by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, in conjunction with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, seemed to have huge implications,” the ABC News account said. It explained that the Cape Cod outbreak was “among the pieces of new evidence behind the CDC’s decision” to ask Americans to wear masks indoors, even if they are vaccinated.

That ABC News article was more than 800 words long, but somehow the reporters never found an opportunity to mention two highly relevant words: “Bear Week.”

Provincetown is to gay men what Mecca is to Muslims, and the annual week-long gathering of thousands of “bears” (“a term used by gay men to describe a husky, large man with a lot of body hair,” per Urban Dictionary) who pack into crowded bars immediately follows the Fourth of July holiday. So this “Cape Cod beach outbreak,” to use the euphemism of that ABC News headline, was atypical to say the least, and certainly a poor test case to justify inflicting renewed mask mandates on the entire nation.

The “vaccines” are working. They are a cure for Wuhan flu hysteria, not a vaccine for the flu. Hysteria sufferers who get the vaccine overcome their hysteria and drop their precautions thus get the flu and help reach herd immunity. The success of the vaccinations is measured by the number of vaccinated who get the flu.

Researchers Warn of Heightened Risk of HIV With Certain COVID-19 Vaccines

I'd say by being dishonest about what's going on there and why, public health officials are doing far more harm than good.

But then CoupFlu has NEVER been about public health.

BTW, they aren't the only one who aren't liable...

Federal PREP Act Liability Protections for COVID-19 Vaccination

Which begs some questions...

Did Big Med want liability protection? If not, why not? And is this why, in NYS anyway, you can't get a CoupFlu shot from your primary care provider?

My wife got a breakthrough with J&J and was moderately sick for 2 weeks. I got the full-blown virus (hadn’t gotten the J&J yet) and was in the hospital for almost a month. Still recovering.

I’ll get the Novavax in the autumn. I probably don’t need it at this point, but I’m immunocompromised, and the Novavax is much more of a standard vaccine, and I get stuff like that all the time. Flu, pneumonia, what-have-you. No harm to my underlying conditions.

Gay men tend to lie a lot (STDs, HIV, marital status, etc. Many gay men are libs, which means they lie even more. Just because they say they were vaccinated, doesn’t mean they were vaccinated.
