This is a test book example of how the media creates fake news about a Republican. There is absolutely NO evidence given that Pompeo had physical possession of this bottle of whiskey and then absconded with it illegally. Yet, the story is written in such a way that leaves that impression. It’s possible even that all of the ‘facts’ in the story are true, but the substance of the story is that Pompeo took the bottle without paying for it, even though he really didn’t.
From the story, an expensive bottle of whiskey was given to someone at the State Department in Pompeo’s name. It’s very likely that someone drank it without ever putting it in the gift storage location. Reuters then created a fake news story leaving the impression that it was Pompeo took it.
Hibiki 17 really is good, but I’m unwilling to pay for anything older than that. But if someone wants to give me a bottle of the 21, I will gladly accept it.
well, yes, but this story will also be comedic heaven for more than a few skits - where’s waldo’s whiskey only the state department knows for sure. Keystone cops searching for whiskey. The prohibitionists called into special session. The jokes just keep writing themselves on this one.
