More like 20k today. Depends on the model obviously. Also note Tesla wasn’t invited to Bidens conference.

#38 $1,000 cell phones stop working because the battery will not stay charged. A battery that costs no more then $15 at Amazon. The battery is glued in place as is the back. You have to heat up the glue and pry apart the parts to replace the battery. https://www.ifixit.com

Now a single cell in a electric car stops working and you can be guaranteed that the WHOLE battery pack costing thousands would have to be replaced. You will never have a $50 repair with a battery powered car.

iFixit repair guide says: Time Required 1 - 2 hours
for a battery replacement!!!
In the past it was a minute.

Yep. Replacement cost. Note I own a model 3. I charge it from home solar except on long distance trips. I have more of these batteries to keep my power on when CA turns the power off. I can pretty much go off grid with the system if I want to. Please also look at my user name.. guess where they build the cars.

I haven’t found the charge times on long trips to be bad either. My cars entertainment system is great. I can stream videos, music, or play video games while charging. Most charge session are less than 30 minutes when making long distance trips.

Finally many in the thread have mentioned the fires of evs. They are hard to extinguish. However..if you look at the actual statistics..the Tesla fleet at least has fewer fires per Capita when compared to ICE vehicles.

And before you guys go off on me..I also own an f350 diesel dually. So it has more to do with driving a computer than it has to do with the environment.

<>Hopefully at home charging will be prevalent.<>

You support the imposition of EVs?

I’m not going off you. Especially if you’re using solar to charge that thing.

I’d love to see the faces of other folks around you that have EVs, give you the head nod for being Green. Next day see you rolling coal in that dually.

No I don’t support the imposition of EV’s. I do know however that most people who knock them haven’t tried them. They are great vehicles.

Same here I effin despise EVs. I own a fuel efficient Honda. In Japan traffic is very congested with stop and go.... Hybrids make some sense there. But most hybrids run on gasoline and cannot be plugged in the AC.

If they were great, they’d be in far greater demand and wouldn’t need government subsidies.
