Report: Former ATF Agents Urge Senate Not to Confirm David Chipman
Breitbart ^ | 5 Aug 2021 | AWR HAWKINS

A report from the Reload notes that seven former Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF), agents are urging the Senate not to confirm David Chipman to the position of ATF director.

The seven former agents sent a letter to the Senate Judiciary Committee, suggesting Chipman is not the right man for the job.

The letter said, in part:

David’s strong personal beliefs on firearms issues will create serious and long-lasting problems for the Bureau and the effective execution of its law enforcement mission. We relied on effective partnerships with industry, stakeholders, and other law enforcement agencies to execute our missions. Unfortunately, if David were confirmed, ATF partners would see someone who is coming to the agency with his top priority being to implement a divisive gun control agenda.

The agents also noted:

We are very familiar with his leadership style and his approach to leading the agency. While an agent, David did not exhibit the collaborative and respectful type of leadership required of an agency Director that must manage a diverse workforce with challenging issues. While we can say without hesitation that David is very smart, we can also say without hesitation that he was very often not a team player and had a troubling tendency to think he was always right.

On July 29, 2021, Breitbart News reported that 25 members of the Montana legislature urged Sen. Jon Tester (D) to take a clear stand against Chipman’s confirmation.

The legislators said:

Mr. Chipman’s history as a lobbyist for radical gun control groups and support for unconstitutional firearm bans make it glaringly obvious he will not respect Montanans’ Second Amendment rights and will actively work to infringe upon them.

Rejecting Mr. Chipman’s nomination should be an easy, no-brainer decision. We urge you to oppose his confirmation and announce...

Because they might be let go during the next fired drill.

I don’t know about you, but I would expect no less from him. Unlike the voters of South Carolina who love, adore, and worship him, I see him for what and who he is.

Here in Maine, about a month ago Susan Collins said her vote on Chipman will be a “no.”

Chipman sounds like a lunatic. If I were an AFT officer, I’d quite, en masse, rather than serve under a far-out anti-First Amendment hack.

Remember, he has personal bodyguards. We don’t.

he probably lives in a nice “white privileged” gated community, while we have none of that protection. We live with regular working people who are prey to the roving gangs, esp. black and Hispanic gangbangers, drug dealers, and car thieves/carjackers, who are spreading even into the suburbs and rural areas.

Just check your local crime statistics to see if drug deaths, arrests, and gangs have multiplied in your region over the past couple of years (because the Democrats have crippled law enforcement across the country).

David Chipman committed perjury during his hearing. He lied to Congress and the American People.

He said that he had the exact same AR-15 the we can buy when he was on the ATF national SWAT Team.

I used to be friends with a guy who was on the ATF National SWAT Team, probably at the same time.

I have seen and held his rifle. It was a M-4 with select fire, capable of three round burst and full auto, neither of which the AR-15 is capable of.

Chipman belongs in prison.

Waste of time.

The DEMONCRATS think he is the man for the Job.
I’m sure the Assistant DEMONCRATS agree.

End of story.
