Princess Cruises is announced Thursday that the company will take measures to curb the spread of the coronavirus on its ships as the delta variant continues to surge across the globe.
On Thursday, the company announced that passengers would be required to wear masks and provide a negative COVID-19 test to board, according to USA Today.
"As Princess Cruises continues with its successful restart of cruise operations the line is adapting to the evolving science around worldwide public health by advising booked guests of temporary changes in onboard mask and pre-cruise testing requirements for cruises in the United States," the cruise line said in a statement, according to the news outlet.

I have an idea: I'll just tighten my restrictions on going on a cruise ship.
If everybody on the ship is vaccinated what restrictions are they supposed to tighten without making it not worth the cost?
But, but, these “vaccines” are supposed to set the cruisers free of masks and china flu restraints, they said.
Oh no! DELTA!
“...would be required to wear masks and provide a negative COVID-19 test”
The test wouldn’t be a big deal for me, but if I bought my ticket under the condition that masks wouldn’t be required for vaccinated passengers, then I’d want my money back.
...but of course they would NEVER agree to refund.
Has anyone here been on a cruise?
As a 63 year old widowed single man would I ever want to go on one?
I mean, the chicks dig me because I’m dreamy but it would be nice to go some where on one of these and meet new people- unless it is going be boring and alone
we love it
They do have cruise planners that specialize in booking for singles. They seem to have a very good time when we’ve seen them on board. But watch out for chicks with bad intentions perhaps with an eye for conning men out of money.
I think that the cruise industry is in a unique position that it appears they are uninterested in taking advantage of.
The average cruise is what, 3 to 14 days? Something like that.
All they have to do is mitigate outbreak over that period, and prevent the reputation of “spreading” at their ports. They don’t have to deal with entire passenger lives, just 3-14 days.
I would think a cruise ship could easily do the following:
1) UV scrubbers in the air ducts
2) Dispersed seating at meals and entertainment
3) Increased and improved sick bay accommodation to mitigate the inevitable outbreak
4) Iron clad arrangements for scheduled docking and disembarkation, even with outbreak in sick bay
5) Ivermectin cocktail hour
6) Decontamination between cruises
7) Cursory passenger health screening
8) Hall remote temperature sensing
Silly passports are obviously not going to prevent another Diamond Princess. They are just shoddy legal cover that will not replace customer confidence when the inevitable infection appears.
The cruise can be a vacation from wearing the damned mask!
Yes, I definitely recommend going on a cruise AS LONG AS they don’t force you to wear a mask. That sort of ruins the whole reason for being on a cruise.
Nothing says wonderful vacation like everyone wearing masks...
Not!
“THEY” will change their tune a thousand times, including cruises. The cruise companies are dancing to the tune of bandmaster Fauci. And Fauci loves to feel important.
We just want to get away from daily house chores, not have to cook or clean and catch some live entertainment. We can’t be asked to wear masks while dining LOL. So if only place to wear mask is in show lounge, it is not a big deal. We will have private balcony and room service 24-7 :)
Would be difficult to dine 3 meals daily with a mask on.
(we seldom visit buffets anyways).
Would be difficult to drink pinacolada wearing a mask in bars.
Would be more difficult to swim with mask on.
OK so we will wear mask in the main show lounge. Not a bad trade off with no house chores, no cooking, no cleaning, and get away for a change of scenery.
But do the masks keep you from the “sea squirts” AKA Norovirus
😂 😱
Can’t wait to see your thread/pics!
