250 gallon propane tanks seem to be standard. I suppose zoning rules how big a tank you can have.
I need to look at the appropriate NFPA Code on that. That does seem to be a common size, I’d like to know why.
Keep in mind that the large/expensive bills in Congress now have FEDERAL control of Zoning. Not local control.
