President Joe Biden once dismissed America’s obligations to Afghan women and girls when he was vice president, telling officials “[bleep] that” when it was brought to his attention.
Atlantic reporter George Packer, also a biographer of former President Barack Obama’s special representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan Richard Holbrooke, revealed the 2010 exchange in March.
Packer cited Holbrooke’s diary as the source:
According to Holbrooke’s diary, when he asked about American obligations to Afghans like the girl in the Kabul school, Biden replied with a history lesson from the final U.S. withdrawal from Southeast Asia in 1973: “[bleep] that, we don’t have to worry about that. We did it in Vietnam, Nixon and Kissinger got away with it.”
The comment has now resurfaced in the media as President Biden failed to plan for evacuating Americans and Afghan allies after the country fell rapidly to a resurgent Taliban.

Henry Kissinger is still on this side of the Big Doorway at the great age of 98. If he still has clarity of mind, I would be very interested in what he thought about Biden’s
withdrawl from Afghanistan.
As recently as three years ago, Kissinger was holding audience with President Trump.
And to think Ol’ Joe was the best the democrats had to run.
Maybe the Afghan women refused to let him smell their hair and he’s holding a grudge.
He just had the words in the wrong order.
Frankly, having seen the corrosive effects of Feminism firsthand, I am not keen on spreading it abroad using ANY means.
It’s harder to sniff them through a burqa.
Boy, Joe sure cares more about women than Trump.
Maybe Democrats can use that in an ad.
I hate to say it, but I would be surprised if he openly plays with himself one day, if he has not already.
EVERYTHING is a political calculation with career politicians. The end result isn’t truly judged by being moral or wrong or right, but if you can subsequently keep holding some form of political office.

Would like to know what George Packer thinks about the current events in Afghanistan. n.b. - He is a big critic of US involvement in Afghanistan and Iraq.
