Dershowitz said that David isn’t the only friend he’s lost — particularly after he defended Donald Trump over his first impeachment when the President was accused of trying to arrange a quid pro quo with the Ukrainian government.
“That’s the price of principle,” he said. He later said that his “principles require” that he defend the Constitution, and that he felt that the first impeachment of Trump was unconstitutional.
He told us that that’s why he removed his second t-shirt after the run-in to reveal the one that read “It’s the Constitution, Stupid!,” which he said his wife bought him because so many people misunderstood his decision to defend Trump. (He said he was wearing two t-shirts at the time of the incident because he was on his way to meet a friend when he ran into David, and he had been planning to give the outer t-shirt to his pal as a gag gift.) “I’m a liberal Democrat and I voted for Biden just as enthusiastically as Larry did,” Dershowitz told us.

He once quit SNL in a huff after they pulled his sketch at the last second. He later regretted quitting, so [the real-life inspiration for] Kramer told him to go back in and pretend nothing had happened. So he did, and Dick Ebersol didn't say anything. I still think only one of his sketches made air the entire time he was there.
I guess the Islamists didn’t get Larry David yet...

I thought David was one of the main writers for “Fridays”.
I had no idea he worked on SNL.
Fridays was a better show than SNL in those days.

It’s all in the denouement. That was a very well written episode. Good show.
But defending the child molester and blackmailing Mossad agent Epstein, while accepting the occasional services of an underage masseuse? Just fine!
But that was the year Julia Louis-Dreyfus was on the show, so he brought her to Seinfeld, like he brought Michael Richards from Fridays.
