A federal MP has lashed protesters for planning another rally in the heart of Sydney as the alleged organiser was charged by police.

A Victorian man has been arrested and charged after allegedly organising Saturday’s planned anti-lockdown protest in Sydney.

Police will allege the 29-year-old arrived in Sydney on the weekend and had driven from Queensland.

The man was stopped by police at Hornsby railway station on Thursday. Police say he failed to provide a reasonable excuse for travelling, allegedly claiming he was lost.

He was arrested and taken to Hornsby police station, where he was charged with four counts of not complying with the public health order, encouraging the commission of crimes, and false representation resulting in police investigation...
Protesters have repeatedly been warned that police will be out in force to defuse the rally, which is planned for noon from Victoria Park...

More than 1000 police will be deployed in Sydney, where people have again been warned to expect massive fines and possible arrests.

NSW Police Minister David Elliott said on Wednesday the public health orders were a restriction of movement, not a restriction of speech.
“You can still protest. If you want to protest against the government, go online, start a petition, join social media, ring talkback radio, write a letter to the editor of a newspaper,” he said...

Under the controversial vaccine passport-style scheme, when the state’s vaccination rate hits 70 per cent, those who are double-jabbed will be permitted to dine in outdoor restaurant settings, train at the gym or have a drink in beer gardens with capacity restrictions in place, The Australian reported...

Customers would gain entry to venues by proving their fully inoculated status with an app displaying vaccination certificates linked to Medicare records...

Under the NSW government proposal, anyone who has received both jabs would be issued with a commonwealth-assigned vaccination certificate through Medicare.
In order to enter a venue, a person would simply flash the certificate or scan in with a QR Code to prove they were fully-vaccinated...

Despite warnings protesters still planned to go ahead, with those people an online event page claiming they’ve been targeted.

QR Codes were enforced in Australia same time as the latest lockdown restrictions, but there’s never talk of dropping the necessity of using them when entering every establishment, including at entrance to shopping malls, plus at every shop you enter inside the mall.
