Former CIA operative: I wouldn't get the stranded Americans in Afghanistan if I were the State Department
Washington Examiner ^ | 20 Aug 2021 | Becket Adams, Commentary Writer

...Even Cuomo was taken off guard by Mudd’s remarks about declining to "get" U.S. nationals in Afghanistan.

“Did I just hear you right?” asked Cuomo. “Did you say that if you were the State Department, you wouldn't make preparations and plans to get Americans that right now can't get to the air base?

Mudd said, “I wouldn't offer them safe travel. Look, the comment I heard from the U.S. government is, you have safe travel … to the airport. The other comment was, we can't assure that. What that means to me is, the U.S. government has some kind of conversation with the Taliban that says, 'Please let people who want to go to the airport go.'”

He added, “We don't want 5,000 Ubers a day from the airport in Afghanistan going to pick up people who identify with the U.S. and then risking firefights with Taliban along the way. One wrong shot, the Taliban start shooting, the U.S. military shoots back, remember Blackhawk Down, Somalia, U.S. military forces are dragged through downtown Kabul.”Even Cuomo was taken off guard by Mudd’s remarks about declining to "get" U.S. nationals in Afghanistan....

...If you want to know why it has all gone so wrong, perhaps this CNN interview offers some relevant insight.

The CIA are enemies of the American people, period. There need to be war crimes trials.

The CIA are enemies of the American people, period.

It's been that way ever since we let the Operation Paperclip nazis create this intelligence organization in our country in 1947.

But by God they would move both heaven and earth if there was an illegal alien trapped in Afghanistan!

That does explain how everything is wrong - the fed government learned from the Nazis and adopted features from their system.

Is he essentially saying that the lives of the military at Karzai Airport are worth more than the lives of American citizens who currently have no avenue to safety ? That’s what his Blackhawk Down reference seems to say. If so, that’s like saying the Cops and FDNYs should not have gone into the towers 20 years ago.

The only logical reason for our dilemma is that we made a deal with the Taliban: they’ll let the airport operate, and let Americans in, but U.S. forces don’t leave the airport perimeter.

Clearly, our forces are being held to this deal by our side, while the Taliban laughs at our naivete and only lets a trickle of Americans through. And our Afghan allies don’t dare go near the airport, where they will be grabbed by the Taliban.

This was a fool’s deal. We are in a trap, and the Taliban can close the trap at any moment they choose, simply by dropping mortar shells on the runway.

According to the article from the Daily Mail last night, the Brits don’t think we can hold the airport longer than a couple more days. Large crowds of desperate people are pressing the lines and if they manage to break the lines they will flood the airport. Once we lose control, getting order restored may be impossible. These folks are desperate and the realization is sinking in that we’re leaving the majority behind.

And remember, every Afghan who makes it to the Kabul airport now has made it through Taliban checkpoints. And we’re letting them come to this country?

The Americans left behind by biden will become hostages for the taliban. It’s part of the plan. The bearded savages will trade them for “refugee” status. 1000 bearded ones come to the USA in exchange for 10 Americans released.
