The question to be asked is why was the CIA Director sent in the first place? What could he say that would make any difference? Why would he accept a shameful task, a grovel, that seems unique in the history of the CIA? If Biden were to threaten some sort of military reprisal for whatever reason the logical person to send is Austin. Is it possible that Biden’s handlers understand that there are few clowns left to carry the President’s water? Shameful!

The Taliban does not control the poppy fields, that’s what the warlord’s do. And the Warlords are sort of like... kind of on our side Maybe...

Re: 12 - I expect at some point, with the press releases about increasing numbers of people airlifted out of Afghanistan, “victory” will be declared by the Biden Administration.
The wildcard in this are Americans potential/actually held by the Taliban and brought out after such a victory declaration. They could be declared as “spies”, etc.
I can’t see the Taliban allowing the US to declare victory in leaving and giving up any potential media leverage that Americans detained as “spies” could bring.
The CIA Director is the right person, because the Taliban are a wholly owned subsidiary of the Pakistani Intelligence Service.
I would not be surprised if I heard that the Pakistanis secretly were at the meeting. It is their game to play.
What bothers me? I smell a rat . Like there is something pre planned in all of this. I can’t yet put my finger on it.
According to you, we are apparently only rescuing Taliban militia on those flights.
