Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador said his country can't help the United States with migrants "forever" and that there must be investments in "poor countries" such as in Central America where many migrants come from, the Associated Press reported.

Invest in a wall, border patrols, summary deportations.

Roll out the unwelcome mat.

Why on earth should we invest in “poor countries”? And Mexico is not a poor country. It has plenty of natural resources to exploit. What’s poor is its utterly corrupt leadership.

in the article it talks about a US program to plant trees - so the messicans are cutting down trees so they can claim money for replanting - our ‘investing’ in real time

Yeah, I was thinking that since we have 30 million Mexicans here (illegally), that should free up some resources in Mexico.

This has to be the most tone deaf, ignorant load of manure I've read today. Sadly there will be a ton of people nodding in agreement.

You could pave the streets of Mexico with gold with the PemEx oil money that got pissed away in bribes and corruption. There is no excuse for Mexico to be the sh^t hole it is.

What does he expect, the USA to change Mexico's genetic makeup? We in the USA already have intractable, unsolvable problems caused by our genetic makeup.

Mexico is poor because that's the way they like it. Go to work or have a siesta? No contest.

We did a righteous after WWII with the Marshall Planthat paid huge dividends. Helping the Central American would be tough with education needs, corruption, and infrastructure needs. Just like rebuilding Europe. There has to fiscal assurances and a NAFTA like agreement. The TCOs, Nicaragua, Cuba, and the US haters home and abroad will be a huge pain.

As I sometimes say those running the government aren’t engaged in so-called pump priming anymore, rather they are engaged in economic masturbation endlessly wanking off for their own jollies and to such an extent that they would scandalize the sex fiend in the novel Dr Sax.

Then shut your border down Obrador. Those refugees are supposed to be taken in by the first border they cross. That would be your border Obrador.

You posted exactly what I was gonna say. Mexico is where they are because of who runs that country and worse yet, HOW they run it.
