I don’t think this was a school trip. They were a group of Afghanis at the same school who went over with their families. Americans by convenience.

24, they were all Afghan nationals traveling with family members to bask in the wonders of a taliban Kabul. Please don't confuse these people with actual Sworn, Natural, or Loyal Americans.
No American in their right mind would have missed the May 1st deadline.

Yes, I saw that and the other father confirmed it along with saying he met with Biden and it didn't go well since Biden spent more time talking about Beau Biden than the father's son. Looking at his watch after each coffin is placed in its hearse is not bumbling Biden, it is deliberate cruelty.

That picture sent a jolt through me as have ones from past tragic losses of brave protectors in the services. She will never repair the hole in her life as her husband was taken away.
May God guide these families through this mourning and heal their suffering.
I think those kids were Afghan kids who had moved to San Diego with their family. They and some of their parents had spent the summer with relatives in Afghanistan. Whether that’s true or not, who knows, but as a freeper said, it’s not the glee club or the chess club.

U.S citizens who filled out a repatriation request or were enrolled in the STEP program were contacted by telephone several times. That’s a know number of citizens perhaps a few hundred at most.
I’m making an educated guess that the ones who didn’t take up an evacuation offer have more family in Afghanistan than the U.S. Family beyond a spouse and children who would have been able to evacuate with the citizen. Some of the US citizens were former SIVs who returned to Afghanistan for family visits.
After the chaos of the last few weeks settles we should have a cleared sense of the situation.

This is symptomatic of why we re failing as a nation. Psaki says there is nothing we can do because of the “reality on the ground.” What the hell do we have a military for? If not to CHANGE THE REALITY ON THE GROUND?

You raise some interesting points. Also, originally announced there were over 10,000 Americans to get out of Afghanistan. It is reported we got 6000 out and there is a couple hundred left.....Does that mean the other 4000+ want to stay there?
